the afternoon sunshine on the island makes it appear closer than usual. it is about 1 kilometer across the sound but it does not seem so far.


i would not advise crossing the sound with one of these erect boats though. they have not been seaworthy for some years now and were decorated and placed there as part of a culture history exhibition.


when you approach the boats it triggers a surprising audio program from boatlife in the old days.

it doesn't help to approach this door though, you have to turn around and go the other way.to get to the boats.
