my youngest brother lives in the foothills of the white mountains in new hampshire. an autumn visit to his place in the forest is always a pleasure. there is a community center nearby with a ski slope for winter recreation and a pond for summertime activities.


in the autumn neither of the facilities are in demand as folks including ourselves prefer walks in the forest or longer hikes in the mountains clad in brilliant autumn foliage.


there are more spectacular sights in the area but the patient pond is often glassy calm with nice reflections silently requesting to be photographed. and of course we oblige when we get the chance.
