RE: Could Privatizing Roads and Water Transform Our World?

I'll give you an example of what happened in Spain a few years ago with privately managed roads. When they stopped making a profit, they were abandoned by the private companies and the State paid 1.8 billion euros to the private companies to “rescue” them.

My opinion is that there is no difference between public and private. The public sector encourages large private companies and when management fails, the State pays (with everyone's money).

Best wishes, @manclar.

Again, the post is focused on the reality of Nigeria, comparing Caracas vs USA and other countries. Here the government investment is useless and that is the reason why private companies in Venezuela are always a better model. As the best example I quote the Internet, the Cantv/Mobilnet state company is really garbage, while any of the private internet operators are superior in service.

But I understand your point, I suppose that the reality of each country is different. In this sense I am optimistic, and among the options of having companies managed from the State that do not serve and private companies that I know they will take money and abuse, I prefer to have a better service, but of course my vision is biased because obviously I live in a country where I do not enjoy the basic services and comforts like others in Spain and the rest of the world. I guess if they were in my place, surely they would prefer to opt for private companies that will provide services.

Obviously the opinion is biased by the lack of services, and of course I give my opinion from my reality, taking into account Nigeria and Pakistan.

Cheers @enraizar
