Today I’m making the long, hot trek from Ubud to the Denpasar immigration office, and honestly? It’s the one part of being an expat I absolutely despise. Everyone’s heard the horror stories about immigration centres in Southeast Asia—the queues, the confusing rules, the endless waiting in the heat

Is the Denpasar office actually as bad as they say, or is it just another overblown expat myth? I’m going in to see the reality for myself.
