Spidey Sense

I'm a big fan of nature. I love all the intricacies and unique things it brings to the senses. Especially, the sense of sight. @trumpman already knows of my fetish for oddities (and thanks for tagging me in your finds!), but I also revel in the every day beauties, like, spiders, and offer my shitty photography to share with you.

That one is aptly names the 'big orb weaver' and are relatively common here in Tennessee. This particular one, made her web on the back steps attaching it to the outer wall of the house. Maybe not the best spot, but she seems to be getting fed.

This one, she was a little smarter and went ground floor to the lip of the pool, catching any gnats or other bugs that dipped below the water line. She has a wider leg span, and is skinnier, a different species. It is known around here as a ladder spider because of the 'ladder' it creates in the middle of the web. They have a neat trick where they bounce on it to ward of would be predators when you get too close.

But, neither of those were anywhere near the size of the one we saw camping last weekend. I'll post that one separately here soon. You'll love it! I did. Touch more grass. Do you REMEMBER TO BE YOU?! I always am, even while eluding the web.

Great photographs! I truly love nature and find insects fascinating, but I won’t deny that being so close to a spider does scare me a bit

They can be dangerous. These ones, the bite would hurt and it might get infected, but the poison/venom isn't that harmful to humans.

Hey you’re a real spider man! 😝 Cool shots. Spending time in nature is the best plan for me. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Pretty sweet. I'm not a fan of snakes, but I handle spider pretty well.

Nope, I can't do snakes with a few exceptions. I agree with you on mosquitoes, zero use case. Though I have heard they are working on ways to "weapoinze" them into vaccine delivery devices.

With the smorgesboard of other things that will enter their system as they bite everything? Not sure that's a great idea. Crazy viral mutations just waiting to happen there. Just kill em all :D

Again, I don't disagree with you, I am just remembering what I read at some point. Zika be damned. We use thermacells when we camp, and those things are amazing!

Got a post coming in the next few days of the boys night out last weekend where we went camping. Kinda jealous we didn't make it over to the Rockies tho 😁

Auch, first time seeing so many closeups of spiders and their web, lol! Not a fan of them though but definitely enjoying the details that otherwise I won't be able to see. Awesome pictures too!
