Social media and it critics

It's actually funny or should I say weird that it's due to the hive learners prompt I got to know what cancel culture is. 🤣 Honestly when I first saw the prompt I was already thinking which of the culture of my people is to be cancelled because it's kind of bias but then as I go through other posts, i became more confused and i had no choice than to go to the internet for verification sake and voila when i confirmed my doubts i was shamelessly laughing at myself indeed learning never end daily we keep learning new stuffs and thanks to hive learners now I know better.😊

Cancel culture is something that has been on trend ever since who knows, daily as we visit one social media platform or the other we come across new trends from celebrities and other influencers. I find it so awful how people now come online with sensitive matters for the media to judge, practically giving them acess to justice but what they fail to understand is that haters are everywhere. A person cannot be loved by all and when there is an opportunity to become a judge it is base on what they feel about such individuals not base on the truth. So I think at this point it's best when we know what cancel culture is all about. It's a situation where by fams, followers and supporters withdraws their love from people they ones loved and now speaking ill about them. cancel culture is basically seen on all our social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, tiktok and the likes of them due to the fact their action went totally off from what was expected of them.

Although some of the accusations levied against this influencers are right just like the current trend on the Internet that involved a lady that was invited to a pod cast interview and ended up saying lots of unhealthy stuffs about her doing anything with her body when a huge sum of money is involved and to think that this same lady has over millions of followers on tiktok and about three hundred thousands on Facebook along side her Instagram account is something else. Well due to what she said on the podcast attracted lots of other celebrities who later dropped some comments but at the long run she came out and insulted each and everyone of them and it resulted to reporting her accounts which led to the banned of her accounts. Though am not to judge her but at same time the people's judgement were fair enough because it would only be a bad influence on the younger minds.

But again what fams don't seem to know is that some of this accusations on some influencers is just to tarnish their image and most of them call it content creation. Sometimes again a well known popular Nollywood actress was trailed on social media by her ex best friend saying her mother was a witch and that the mother did incantation and transferred her wealth and fame to her daughter. Online family are not even sure if the accusations were wrong or right but a lot of people used it as content not minding she's human and she got feelings not just that she's also a mother and how will hers kids feel when the public say nasty things about their mama.

Honestly I feel the people are abusing the power of social media. The main aim is to interact and build connections with people far and near, have fun, learn new stuffs in terms of diy and education but now it is mostly used for the opposite which is totally wrong.
