My most desired season

For every season welcomed, comes with it own merits and de-merits but still at that there is also that one special season I cherish the most which is none other than the rainy season. Over here in West Africa, there are mostly two common seasons which are the rainy and harmattan also know as the dry season. Majorly between the month of November to early March we experience mostly cold like weather during the harmattan. this season gives a kind of funny look to people like you get to apply your cream over and over again to avoid looking like dust it self. 🤣

Back to my favorite season which is the rainy period it is the most anticipated compared to the others as farmers wait eagerly so the land can generally get soft to enhance cultivation and aid the growth of plants. the fact that this season put smile on a lot of faces is overwhelming as it serves as a source of water for communities lacking this basic essential of man. I remember how living in a rented house few years back was so hectic during the dry season as we always have to go in search of water that too trekking for a very long distance. Not that we don't have tap or well but the well always get dried up and the tap was rationed meaning we get water for a day and don't have for two days which on several occasion we barely get enough so we had to do the needful by going in search of water. So the rainy season made it pretty much easier to save more than enough water as all there is to do, is to set a bucket in the rain.

Also one of the reason I love the rainy season was due to my love for water. oh..... I can't recall how many times my mom had to use cane just to scare me out of the rain but with time she got used to it and let me be. My neighbors went as far to nickname me fish because I was always seen in the rain or playing with water.💦 I guess you don't know that my most enjoyable bath then was in the rain like the feeling is unexplainable and the fun was that you don't just see a single kid bathing as other kids also joined in the game. It was fun filled and I had lots of memories attached to it. so the rainy season is my most desired season amidst others.
