Cash reward or not?

Indeed money is everything and it is used to appreciate hard work in every aspect of life, just like we go to work on daily basics so we can be paid for our services render meaning it's our reward for working.

Actually for this prompt is something kind of tricky cause me on the other hand I love money a lot and have fallen victim to this 😎 but then should it be used to reward academic brilliance? On this particular day while still in junior secondary school, we were given an assignment to do but unfortunately only few students submitted while the rest gave silly excuses and I was part of those that gave excuse but that was because it was kind of difficult for me to do.

So in other to punish those of us that refuse to submit we were given punishment as if that was not enough the teacher decided to pepper us by giving the assignment submitters cash as a reward for their diligence. It was indeed painful but then they deserve it. After his class for the day he still gave us another work to-do and this time fixed an amount to it though it was a bit difficult as it has to with only the first ten people to submit receives the money. You needed to see me in action a typical late comer like me was already in school as early as 6:55am all because of money not that I was so interested in the assignment. 😎 But all the same to cut the long story short he never gave us the money even when all the class did the assignment but few came last. The hatred we had for him was on another level as ever since that day no one accept to believe him again. some even prefer to come to school the next day to copy from others while the stubborn ones that always forget their books at home serves the punishment.

Aside that have watched how so many children prefers not to be serious with their education but the moment money is mentioned they become serious overnight not really because they have much interest in it but that money was involved so literally what they are after is the money and not the knowledge Paraventure when the cash reward stops they go back to their lazy attitudes not that this kids are not intelligent but they just choose not to be serious.

So left for me, I would say instead of cash, the money should be use to purchase the materials needed for the success of their academics. Aside the materials their are several other ways this kids can still be appreciated for their brilliancy. Like my primary and secondary school what they normally do at the end of third time, a few scholarship is given to the best graduating pupil from primary six to Jss1 while a double promotion is given from elementary four to six and for the others, materials for the next class is dispatched to them for their hard work. On the other hand bringing money into the equation will only make them work for the money which is good as it also triggers seriousness in them but the moment money is taken out it becomes even a bigger problem as they will see no reason to study again. Same thing can also be applied to the university graduates, rather than money a job opportunity should be given once out of school.
