We find ourselves in an era when the cost of medication is more costly than the cost of food. In order to ensure we all remain healthy by reducing the rate of accumulating bad cholesterol and also maintain our fitness most individual have to choose between exercise and diet or both depending on what works for them and which depends on the situation they find themselves. The sad truth is not many are comfortable making such a decision till they are faced with a life treating illness.

As an individual, I'm blessed with a unique stature which might make people easily believe that I exercise a lot or probably dieting but it isn't true, I exercise occasionally but never a do or die affair. If there is one thing I'm certain I wouldn't be is getting fat believe me I have tried and wished I could accumulate more flesh but sadly all I got was more height which makes me look like an athlete. Over the years I have seen a lot of people go through ups and down trying to reduce weight or consume all kind of herbs with a very strict diet and I wonder what all the fuss about. That is how unfair life could be at times, while some are trying to gain weight some are trying really hard to lose it.

Both dieting and exercise might seem like a viable choice but from my point of view one is more easier and economical than the other. Few years ago I spent my holiday with my aunt who happens to be a fashion designer. Eventually she had to stop as she get older due to consistent complain of back pain and other stuff that comes along with it. She had to leave the work for her apprentice and only focus on sales of tailoring materials. After awhile she started gaining weight a lot and she had heart complications a couple of times. She visited the hospital and She was told to monitor are diet and try to engage in exercise more often.

If there is one thing I know about my aunt is her dislike for exercise. Her husband tries to convince her a couple of times but they always get into argument anytime he mentions it. Trying to do things her way she decided to opt in for rigorous dieting instead. It wasn't a funny experience at all, dieting means you have to restrict yourself from consuming specific meal and judging by the kind of meal we have these days you can barely come across meals without a tiny amount of fat which is the one thing my aunt decided to battle against.

She had to buy all sort of zero sugar/ cholesterol product, the most tragic thing about this kind of product is that they are tasteless and very expensive. During my stay with her, she usually cooks her own meal separately after we constantly complain to her that anytime we consume her own redefine meals our taste bud usually feels weird. It feels like we are eating raw mushrooms. Well she decided to comply with our request but there are times I pity her husband because she might feel too tired to cook for her husband separately and he would have no choice but to eat out of his wife meal. I don't usually waste time anytime I notice that is the case, I instantly disappear and find a way to cook or buy my own food.

She kept at it for years till today, she has made a lot of progress but along the line she had to add a little exercise when she realised that the dieting is not really as effective as she want it to be. Ever since, she has been getting desired results which has improved her health greatly. I'm not a medical practitioner but from the experience I realised that dieting alone is not enough to stay in shape, it is either you engage in rigorous exercise or combine dieting with exercise to get a very progressive result.

Dieting or exercise can both become toxic at some point, I have seen people contain substances that could cause harm to their body in the name of maintaining a strict diet and at some point even exercise can endanger our health, like they say "too much of anything is always bad for our health" everything in life needs to be done in moderation including exercise. As for me I still prefer to engage in exercise than dieting because compared to abstaining from some meal I so much love and purchase tasteless products with my hard earned money, I would rather stick with my morning routine push-up and jogging that doesn't cost me a penny.

There's no dieting without exercise, except the person is doing intermittent fasting. I'm glad your aunt is getting the desired results already, and I wish her the very best as she progresses.

The complications of overweight or obesity is scary. exercise is cheaper while still maintaining a fair touch of desired meals even in little quantities while having more focused diets to stay in shape. Glad that she improved using the exercise.

There's nothing quite like a healthy danger to make people start taking their health seriously. Thankfully, this is always a wake up call to get us to act right.
I'm glad to see she's still going strong today.
