‎Humans primary objective behind every act either selfless or selfish it is always bound to the desire to survive. In most cases, the ability of a human to survive is based on the amount of knowledge and skill we possess and our ability to apply the knowledge to appropriate and immediate situation at hand.

‎We live in a chaotic world where the unimaginable could happen at anytime. It is during this times our survival skills is tested. For some people, they have mastered the skill of administering first aid during emergencies due to their experience in the medical field or having learnt few first aid hacks from school.

‎Not everyone is privilege to have certified medical education or skills but then, every human is expected to know one or two things that has to do with administration of first aid. Even if it is for using it on other people but for one's self.

‎As a student, I have had my share of administration of first aid, though the level of urgency was low, it was never a do or die situation. As someone whose early childhood days was spent in a boarding school, you can begin to imagine what kind of experience I must have had.

‎One thing common among children is the ability to be reckless, it is like a natural talent. Our hostel masters always tried their best to put us under control but it was never enough. Controlling one kid or two might be easy but having a bunch of them under their watch can be overwhelming.

‎So instead of allowing our issues overwhelm them, they taught us few things we need to know about quick administration of first aid and there were some students among us who already have the knowledge of it.

‎If a person were to have a medical emergency, would you be able to handle it? I would, it depends on the situation. If it is managing a wound, applying bandage to a twisted wrist, leg e.t.c I'm more than capable of handling it as long as it is not beyond what I consider to be minimal.

‎I'm not the kind of person that loves messing around, managing some medical emergency is not just about skill but experience. I have seen people who are considered to be medical student panick after seeing blood. It is easier said than done and the most tragic part is, while administering first aid during an emergency situation, one wrong move could cost the person his/her life, so it is never a child's play.

‎Whereas, when it comes to performing CPR, it is a different story entirely. The fact is I have never done it before because I have never found myself in a situation where it is needed. Even if I were to find myself in a situation where it is needed, I'm not sure I would ever be able to perform it.

‎Situations where CPR is needed, It is always a very close call. It is the kind of situation that the person life depends on it, whoever is administering it must know exactly what they are doing. I'm not just skilful enough to perform such a thing, probably if I were to have a little more experience in the medical field I might be able to attempt it.

It's good that your school taught you the basic thing, mine never did.

Almost everyone doesn't have the knowledge of CPR.

Yeah, administration of CPR is known by those with experience in healthcare practice or related fields.
