My journey towards capitalising on business ideas in creating multi-source of income

Every human aims at achieving financial stability in order to minimise their labour and secure their means of survival. this quest is a life long worth of hustle, in a country such as mine nothing is secured, either jobs or governmental benefit. I have always consider it weird how people study all their lives just to secure a job and do nothing more. though sounds like a perfect way to put food on the table but during this time of hyperinflation, when the value of Naira is almost nothing. it is now obvious that securing a job is just a means to maintain poverty level not escape it. yeah I know, I'm beginning to sound like an idealist.

whenever someone is asked, what do you do for a living? it is usually a simple narrative but for me is a little complex for me to pin point the exact thing I do for a living because it is a compilation of this and that nothing singular. I have discussed on multiple occasions about my niche for business which is something I'm really proud of. people create business enterprise for different reasons, for most people to earn money but what if I told you there are others who find themselves doing business by accident.

Every business was just an idea till it was fuelled with passion, over the years I have come up with different ideas to ensure financial stability. most of the business ideas I come up with are usually a means to cope with the situation I have at hand but there are others that was just meant to be cruise but eventually became a source of income. Currently I'm just a student who graduated a year ago and awaiting to be mobilised for NYSC but as a result of the ideas I have invested in over the years I have been able to create a source of income despite being unemployed.

My major source of income is my rabbit farm, the idea of building a rabbit farm did not cross my mind by accident but it was never about having a Rabbit farm. it was more like raising a pet till the numbers grew to the extent that I was advised to start a rabbit farm. At the starting point, never really thought it will grow into something I will acknowledge as a source of income but it did which I have used to support myself on many occasions. the benefit of having rabbit farm us the demand is more than the supply which makes it more profitable compared to other forms of livestock farming.

ImageImage

After the success of my rabbit farm at least to an extent, I felt I could venture into other forms of livestock animals anyone I could think of. I have written extensively in a previous post about my plans for expansion and reasons. in line with the necessary tools needed in making sure this project of mine is successful but this plan is currently on hold till my NYSC stuff is sorted out.

my writing and research endeavours, as a student I realised I possess a lot of digital skills especially when it has to do with the web, after my admission in moshood abiola Polytechnic I got accustomed to the school website so fast which gives me the ability to make payment without having to go to school market and also when it comes to any broadcast related skill such as script writing, filming, creation of advert templates, jingle for radio and research project which i assisted a lot of my colleagues in getting their registration done, payment of school fees, any broadcast related assignment and practicals. little did I know that such skill could earn me some cool cash.

In a nut shell, the moment I understood that I could earn some money from it, I was able to commercialise on the skill by offering application form to students seeking admission, payment of school fees for returning and newly admitted students, writing scripts for broadcast practical students and writing of research project for final year student and other added services. So after I graduated, since I was popular among those offering similar services. a lot of student still reach out to me whenever they are in need of it especially in the aspect of research project/proposal.

There are other sources of income I have invested in but unlike the two I listed, they are more of a long term investment, which means it only yields income occasionally. though I wish I had invested more in my desire to expand to other areas of livestock farming but it seems I keep having a reason not to. hopefully someday I will be able to achieve it with the right amount of resources.

Heard so much about rabbit farming and I wonder a lot how people involved in such business are able to sell them out. They look more like pets and not easy to let go.

This is different from fowl and goat 🫣

It is similar to The same way people buy dogs from pet shops, though we do not have the right to dictate what customers do with the rabbits they buy. It is one of the downside of the business we have to cope with

Moreover there people who rare chickens and goat as pets 😅

I have to confess that I had never seen rabbit farms mentioned before. This caught my attention, as it seems to be a very unique business that certainly has its market. I can imagine how much people love rabbits, because they're easy animals to look after, at least I imagine it's more manageable than a dog or cat, for example, so it sounds really interesting.

I wish you every success!

One of the reasons why people don't really venture into rabbit farming as a form of raring of livestock is because they don't really reproduce as much as other mammals in their Caliber. Less production means less sales, less sales means less profit.

As a result of not having much rabbit farm around, the demand for it is more than the supply which make it more profitable compared to other livestock farming with lot of competition.

Thanks for stopping by 🤗

I must commend that you are doing well for yourself brother. This is the mindset I would love to see in the life of some young men and women in this country where the government doesn't care about his citizens. Thanks for sharing brother.

Wow! From a simple pet owner, you were able to create a rabbit farm. I bet the reason why your pet increases to that point where you can now have a Rabbit farm is that they were all well fed and taken care of.

You've got an amazing way of earning more aside blogging which is farming.
Farming is also good way of earning In the country I must say.
Especially when it turns out to be involved with raring of farm animals for sale at the end or consumption.

Keep of the good work my boss.

Well... young fellow, this is great story but this article your not capitalised after full stops which I am sure you should be doing for the articles you write for clients.

You got talent and confidence and things are moving your way, I am sure you will grow more and build you wealth, I wish you all the best, young fellow!!

How, does rabbit farming give money, like its something to feed them and clean theiir area. Those things are so cute, I hope your keeping them happy!!

Whatever you do, do good things and make money. I am just saying coz that day I read few articles saying people make money by frauding them, because money is needed... they should learn from you on good ways, ethical ways to make money!!

I appreciate your observation

Rabbit farming belongs to a category of livestock farming. So you rare the rabbits and sell them to whoever needs to buy.

I appreciate your thoughtful contribution, thanks for stopping by 🤗

Being in Nigeria and being a salary earner is equal to being a man or woman swimming in the pain of poverty, a business or a job of constant income pays better and aids one the better. I so much pity the private schools teachers who collect 20k every month as salaries. Its sad

This is one of the reasons I detest being a teacher in Nigeria, it is one of the most underpaid jobs.
