Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 33 || Review Of Jean Louis Guerra - Quisera Cover By @stefanovah
Hello everyone, special greetings from this side.
This week's edition is quite an intriguing one, the theme is challenging and fun. Anytime I hear that some people speak multiple languages, I wish I am the one.
I have always wanted to learn Spanish but I don't see myself making any serious effort towards that desire but this week's contest has challenged me. I am going to take my online Spanish class seriously, henceforth.
The theme for week 33 is “Second Language,” I am filled with joy as I watch people speaking other languages rather than their native language.
It points to one thing to me, love and unity. The topic might look casual to some people but beyond the entertainment, it has also made us one.
Imagine someone from Africa singing a Spanish song perfectly and someone from America singing an African song. As an individual when you hear someone speaking your native language, it sparks joy and shows how much the person respects and admires your culture.
After going through a number of entries, I decided to make a review of @stefanovah's entry titled “Jean Louis Guerra - Quisera Cover.”
It is a Latin song, after going through the English translation of the lyrics, I realized how rich the song is. It is a song that expresses true love.
I don't know what inspired Stefanovah to pick this song but somewhere he said it is a song that he used to listen to when he was a child, who knows, childhood memories probably inspired him.
To be honest, the song is quite a difficult one, I was amazed seeing him sing it like it's something he grew up with. I can't even pronounce a word from the lyrics but he sang it without breaking. I really commend his effort on this.
There are a lot of things that stood out for me in his entry which I may not talk about but boldness is something I can't afford not to talk about. If not for anything, I would have been convinced that Latin is his native language, he was one with the language, he was free with it, he loved it.
I can tell from his gestures, his smiles, the way he clapped his hands and moved his body. Gosh, his smiles were contagious, I will tell you one secret, the smile was part of the things that made me enjoy his entry even more.
To cut everything short, his performance was good, it's not easy to practice and master a song in another language. A lot of sacrifices must have gone down to achieve that.
Thanks to @lordbutterfly, @verbal-d, the judges and other supporters of this great initiative. Thanks for giving us this privilege.
