This Thing Called Success

To one person it can be getting a nice job, building a house and having a happy family. To another it can be amassing wealth and to another it can be all about achievements.
Whatever the definition of success is, if you observe it critically you would realize that success has no limit. You buy one car, you will begin to get the desire to buy another, you have a certain amount of money, you will begin to crave for more.
The desires of man never gets satisfied, if success is based on certain kinds of achievements then seriously, no one can fully achieve success because achievements in life are endless.
And funny enough whosoever decides to keep chasing it would continue to run endlessly until he or she gets tired and decides to stop.
So should people put limits on their pursuit of success? No, there is always more to conquer, everyone should go as far as their strength can carry them but it should not be a do or die matter, such that it will make us neglect the role of time and process in bringing dreams into reality.
Once upon a time everyone you see in the world today had a dream. There was hope of becoming something great and contributing positively to the society but along the line some gave up, some died, some were distracted, some were limited by challenges and some were able to chase theirs till the end.
I wanted to become a medical doctor, I studied hard, and did all I could within my power. But things changed when I didn't pass Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.
I couldn't wait another year at home to rewrite so I went to college of education instead and switched to education line.
I left the path I had passion for into something entirely different. Although sometimes I feel bad about it, I am glad for who I am today.
They say “everything happens for a reason.” I dream to become someone influential who would contribute positively to his society directly.
I want to be there in person affecting lives and I felt being a doctor would give me that opportunity but things changed.
However that doesn't mean that my dream has died, there are other ways I can still achieve it and although things don't look smooth currently, I am working on myself and looking for the best ways to establish myself so that I can support those around me in the best way I can.
I would have wanted to join politics but with the way things are going on in my country, the way the game is corrupt and dirty, I am afraid of that path.
Success means achieving a set goal or getting to an expected end. It doesn't necessarily mean popularity, having the fattest account balance or having the biggest records in life.

The little goals you have and your little dreams, if you are able to achieve them even if it is not all, that is also success. It must not be as loud as the society paints it.
It is sad how people make success look like you must become a celebrity, be known everywhere before you are considered successful but that is not it, those little wins you have as far as you are progressing and growing, it is also success.

All that matters is that your goals were achieved whether big or small, our small wins count too but many want it loud and big before they call it success.
Gbam, if the goal is achieved, whether big or little, it is a win
this is beautiful, I love your perspective, I'll buy it keep pushing of course that feeling of satisfaction being able to affect lives in one way or another is and should be the purpose of being successful
