Things To Look Out For Before Renting An Apartment In My Place

(Edited)

One of the most important things in life is where to live. After everything, after all the work and the search for food, the last place we all would return to is our homes.

It is our comfort zone, a place we find solace and peace. This is why people feel unfulfilled at a certain age if they do not have their own house.

Since where to stay is so vital and basic, it is something that we ought to give proper consideration to.

People look out for different things when it comes to choosing where to live depending on their personalities. Things like security, power supply, quietness, water supply, network and so on are often first on the list.

But sometimes, it is not easy to find all of those things in one place. Sometimes, you would discover that where you have power and network, water might be lacking, or if there is security, power supply or distance to town might be a challenge. It is almost impossible to get 100% what we want.

In my place when people look for house, the first thing they consider is power supply and water. I have gotten apartments for a few persons and those were the things that seemed to be their major concern.

In my place, power supply is something scarce, in some parts of the place, light is rationed while in others light is stable, water is also something scarce, only a few houses have boreholes, and the annoying part is that they don't even sell it, they give it out at will.

We all know how important water is, no matter how good looking an apartment is without water, living there is going to be difficult.

It's same reason why my friend left his former apartment to another with borehole.

For security, this place is quite peaceful.
Most people don't even ask about security when asking for an apartment here, most of their concern is water and power.

So, if anyone wants an apartment here, I'll advice, they first ask whether there's steady light and water availability. Houses here are quite cheap, one might be tempted by the cheapness to rent an apartment where he or she would regret.

As a homeowner, what tenants would you like?

This question is substantial, we have hosted tenants before in our family house and I would say it is very reasonable for any homeowner to have in mind the kind of people he wants to let his building to as part of his plan.

Humans have different characters, some people are good, some are evil. There are tenants that can ruin your chances of hosting other tenants, there are people that once they live in a particular place they leave a terrible marks that can not be erased and I think it would be wise not to accomodate those kind of people.

For me, people I can not let out a building to include:

People whose identity I do not know. Some people can be so weird, you can't tell where they came from and their activity are just too suspicious. People like that can not live in my house for security reasons.

Another set of people I can't host are people with criminal record, people who have record of terrible crimes like arm robbery, drug dealing and so on. You can't tell whether they are repented or not.

And if they are not, one day, their crime would not only affect them but extend to other tenants and even you the landlord. The police can raid your house, destroy your property and also disturb other tenants who rented your place because they wanted peace and quietness.

Lastly, anybody who has records of fighting and harassing people are also out of my list. I can't host a tenant that will consistently cause problem in the house and disturb the peace of others. The same way he/she paid for the apartment, other tenants also paid, it would be right infringement to disturb their peace.

Instead, I would prefer tenants with clean records, people I can vouch for. Atleast the tenants should be like family, that I can defend anywhere.

I love people who are matured and have human sympathy. I would love to have tenant's whose lifestyle would make people desire to live in my compound. People who are led by love and are their brothers keepers.

I also love neat people, I know the house is not theirs but there's nothing wrong with keeping the environment clean. Some tenants can be so annoying, they wish you could come and clean their rooms for them.

They leave everywhere dirty and untidy, they don't clear grasses around the compound and even to sweep is a big deal. I would not like to have people like that as my tenant. Cleanliness is something that everyone should esteem highly.

Home should truly be a place of rest and peace after all the stress life throws at us. I completely agree, when renting a house, peace of mind should be part of the package. A good home isn’t just about the building, it’s about comfort, access to basic needs like water and light, and the kind of energy you allow into your space. Even the people we share our homes with matter, peace starts from the inside. Thank you for reminding us of the importance of choosing wisely.

Wow, I really enjoyed this, a home is truly supposed to be a place of solace and not just a building.

And yeah, water and power supply are very basic, they ought to be on top of the list when looking for where to live.

Thanks for stopping by darling 🫂❣️

Choosing a home to live in depends largely on people's characteristics, personalities, tastes, and priorities. There are homes for all tastes, but purchasing a home, whether rented or not, is one of the most important steps in our lives, and this purchase should be carefully considered.

I totally agree with you, choosing where to live is based on taste and personalities. It varies from person to person
