My Experience With Expensive and Cheap Foods
My Experience With Expensive and Cheap Foods
Usually I prefer cooking my food at home, ever since I found out that I spend so much when I eat from outside. I didn't know how to cook then, but I had to learn so that I could minimize expenses, we all know how tough things are across the world right now.
Well, the cheapest food I ate was last month, a friend of mine came down to my place hungry, unfortunately, I didn't cook anything, not that there was nothing to cook but what was available was not what I wanted to eat. You know that situation where you are hungry yet there is a particular kind of food you want to eat right? Yeah that was it.
So, my friend suggested that we just go to a nearby restaurant and eat, at first I kicked against it making suggestions of noodles but he insisted. In my heart, I was like, "This guy doesn't know I don't have money". I am not ready to spend anything tonight. I later agreed and we went down to the local restaurant.
He ordered food and asked me to make my order too. I said they should give me what they gave him. We both collected Tuwo rice with egusi soup and a piece of meat. When we were done eating. I asked the woman how much was our bill, she said "1000 Naira."
LoL! I had to ask again, one thousand for one person or for both, she said for both, including the sachet of water you gave us. She said yes. I couldn't believe my eyes. That food was well garnished. The soup was wow and I ate to my satisfaction. Well, maybe it's because it is in a local area.
The expensive one.
There is nothing as sweet as having good friends around, every Sunday there is this good friend of mine who always likes taking me out. There was a Sunday he took me to an eatery and we ordered two plates of fried rice with salad and meat. They brought the rice, with two pieces of meat. When we asked for our bill it was 3,200 Naira. I was like what? The food was not even much, was it the tiny meat that made the price like that or what? though it was sweet I won't lie. But to me the price was much, 1,600 Naira for a plate is huge.
I am not the one paying lol, because if it was up to me, we would have used that money to get enough ingredients and plenty of meat to prepare something good at home, that might even last us days. LoL, don't mind me, once in a while, it's not bad to go out there and eat something nice. But it shouldn't be a habit
How often do I eat them?
Well, after those days, I didn't visit any restaurant to eat again, I can cook, whenever I am hungry, my kitchen isn't far. There are days I feel so lazy to cook and there are days, the money you will have on you won't be enough to cook the kind of meal you want.
I am already thinking of visiting that woman who sells her food for five hundred naira for a plate. Since that day, I have been eyeing the place. Her price is fair and encouraging heheh. But that would be only when I don't have enough cash on me to cook or when I want to eat Tuwo rice.
For the expensive one honestly, I missed that rice, forget that I complained about the price, each night I closed my eyes, after our visit, I kept seeing the rice on the table. But That one would be for special days, maybe once in a while, if I have enough cash, I can visit the place with my friend, I mean just a friend lol, and have a nice time. It's good to experience a good life once in a while. The requirement to have that kind of food is just enough money and that's all.
Lol, what an Irony, the better food was cheap and the lesser one expensive, they sols packaging instead😂
Honestly, this is how most things are in Nigeria, the quality ones are underrated while the less are over hyped because of packaging..
Thanks for reading ma
We also get soup in low price which satisfied our craving and it's my favorite too but yes fried rice with salad is also little expensive food here.

Sometimes it's not even about the high prices. Some low price meals are more than the expensive ones.. thanks for reading, thanks for the support
Yes price doesn't matter for the taste sometimes 😀
LoL.. that's it sir 😊
Buying food in eatery is luxury, though eating in a eatery is a very nice thing to do but if done with the acknowledgement that food and everything sold there are expensive it will make the food satisfactory even with the small quantity.
Haha.. you are right, sometimes the price of the food is enough to make one satisfied. If you say you want to eat much you may end up eating your life savings there

This one that you're dreaming about the expensive rice, I hope you can now see why it's expensive? It has imprinted a very powerful memory in you that makes it hard to forget. Some restaurants sell very expensive food that isn't really special but some others sell foods that taste magical, although expensive
LoL.. Omo I can see it o, but just like you said not all expensive foods are nice. Thanks for coming around boss
Thank you so much
How expensive everything has become. I remember when a plate of food used to be 200 naira. Then people even think it was expensive. Imagine now we see 500 naira as being cheap.
By the way, That tuwo you mentioned caught my attention. Been a long time i had something like that. First time I ate it was in Yola and it was great. It's a pity I can't get it to buy or eat over here.
It is well, the way things are just hiking up in Price enn? We are in God's hands.
Please you need that tuwo, your life will never remain thesame after you have a taste
Experiencing a good life once in a while is something good and when we can't afford it, we go for the one our money can afford while hoping for a day to enjoy our lives to our satisfaction. There was a time during my nce days in Oyo state, just take #200 to this canteen and you will be filled without thinking of eating any meal for that day. But you can never find such anymore today even if you have to prepare your meal.
That's life o, as we grow, so also the prices of things grow. If only one could turn back the hands of time 😁
Unfortunately, no one can. Lol
Honestly 😂😂🥺
It’s good that you came across a low budget hotel that day otherwise your whole budget might have distorted. Sometimes it happen, we anticipate a high charge but are handed over with low bill and glee at that moment is beyond elucidation.
Isn’t?
#dreemers
I really didn't expect that food to be as cheap as that. In my heart, I still find it difficult to believe that the woman didn't make a mistake with our bill😂
Being a student I have to cut my clothes according to my size, if I eat 3k food then my textbook will wait on Jesus, though it's not bad to eat expensive once in awhile but for now I stick to cooking at home. #dreemport
Heheh, it's not a small wisdom to cut one's coat according to their size, if you carry big budget and your pocket is small, you will suffer😁
I have seen Tuwo before though I can't eat it because of the soup used in it. It is quite cheap and I am glad you guys had a good time with the meal. Hehe.
... and, for the rice ehn... you guys enjoyed ooo. And, I didn't see theis;
Hehe.
Hello dearest fashionable dreemer. I hope you are well. It is another day again to be grateful and let happiness lead. Also, ttt awaits you, so do dwotw. Have fun with these. I waltzed in from #dreemport, for I am an amazing #dreemer. An awesomely made #dreemerforlife.
LoL.. maybe the person who prepared the tuwo didn't do it well, but on a normal day, tuwo is nice though it needs a good soup to flow down well. For the rice hmmm😂
Not that. The draw soup is something I don't take.
Ouch!!! You are missing a lot dear
Haha... thank you ooo 😅😅
Lol, what an Iron but more than ones i had the same experience
As far as the bills won't be on me, I am comfortable with it anytime, anyday 😁
So there are places that sell cheap food in Nigeria... Please tell me your location let me start relocating 😂
#dreemerforlife
LoL. You are welcome, Nasarawa state boss. The price of that food really surprised me o
Far north, wow
Not far North though, middle belt
Oooh... I see
