Modern Slavery And Its Stings
It was such a disheartening story, thank God for civilization and education, light has come into the hearts of people and such practices suddenly disappeared.
The governments of different places realize how cruel and inhumane such practices are and decided to ban any form of it with the exceptions of punishments for grievous crimes.
To back that liberty, human rights were created according to the constitution to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and no one is taken advantage of.
Several provisions were made to stop any form of slavery but you can't cheat nature, as time changes, as the ages transformed, this cruel act evolved and took another form.
It's a modern age, it would be too barbaric to seize people and put them in shackles and chains openly. The government will fight you, although it is still happening but rare. It would look so strange to buy someone and call them your slave and have them do all your chores and pay absolute allegiance to you.
Slavery is against the law, if anyone is caught capturing people and forcing them to do his/her biddings or putting them in a confined location for whatever reason such a person when discovered is bound to face the wrath of the law.
With this, one may be tempted to say that “aha,” at last the permanent solution to slavery. For a fact, that has indeed reduced the rate at which the act is practiced illegal but there is a legal and invincible form of slavery that is still going on in the world.
Slavery has now taken another form, it is now polished and disguised in our jobs, in marriages, families and in the government.
I am not against any government but do you realize that we are still slaves to the government?
Why did I say that? First check, a slave is always monitored, forced to do things, given orders and so on.
Is that not what our governments are doing to us? They monitor our assets and properties, they give laws, and force us to obey.
They say we have rights but there are certain limitations to the rights, anyone who crosses them gets punished. Some of the rights are just for formalities, they don't really exist. Are all these not a modern form of slavery?
How about at work places? your boss talks to you just anyhow he/she wants, calls you names and treats you like some piece of trash.
You work but you get your pay when they decide, they take your time and energy, you serve till you are out of strength and then when you are free to go and start up your own life, you are already advanced in age.
In some families, some parents, especially adopted parents, and spouses treat the adopted children and their partners like slaves, making them work tirelessly, and sometimes abusing them even physically and they have no right to complain or cry out for help.
What can we call these? Left to me, slavery was never conquered, it just changed from.
Is there any way out?
Seriously, for legal slavery, it's difficult to say that there is a solution especially on the side of the government but when it comes to serving people who treat your rights as trash and want you to serve them all your life, then I think there is a way out.
Wisdom is a very vital thing in life, while working for anyone like that, be smart, don't depend on working for people all your life, save up, invest low key. When you have gathered just enough to start off your life, retire and build your empire.
In the case of parents/adopted parents, i think, it can be difficult especially if the person is still a child but for an adult, such treatments can be reported to human rights but the problem is that it will affect your relationship with the parent and if you have no where to go or no one to help, that's another big problem.
So unfortunate, in the end, it seems some slavery can't be done away with until we are independent and able to cater for ourselves.

The feelings is just like of you
Stop working you can't progress they wont want to Leave that mindset thanks for clearing that out learn to think otherwise
The pleasure is mine, thanks for stopping by boss
Often my mum shares these stories of the slave trade. I would find myself crying because people really suffered then, in this modern era, I think we are privileged enough not to experience the real slave trade.
We are privileged o, because those guys really saw hell in their day during the slave trade
This is almost exactly the same points I raised up in my post. Slavery has been rebranded and repackaged and sold right under our noses.
Fear is the biggest fuel of slavery. A worker begins to think that if he leaves his bad job, where will he get another one and this worker has a family to cater for...hmmm.
As long as resources are unevenly distributed, slavery will never be completely eradicated.
Omo, no be small rebrand o ma. That fear you talk about is a very big issue, it's the reason why many are still under slavery without knowing it .
True talk 👍
