Looking Forward To Next Holiday

If there is a word everyone loves to hear the most, it's “Holiday”. I don't know if I was the only one who thought this way back in high school. From the first day I resume school, my mind is already targeting when we will go on holiday.

Nothing interested me back then like hearing things like, examinations are starting next week, heheh. Holidays are sweet, holidays are fun.

We live in a busy world, we spend most of our time at work trying to make food available at our tables and to meet up with bills.

Sometimes, we want to stay away from work and just relax with our loved ones but we can't because of the kind of rules that surround our work. Most times I commend the sacrifice those who are employed either by the government or private organizations are making.

It's almost like their lives are being caged, you have the money coming in but your time is taken away from you completely.

But, all thanks to holidays, a special period for a break when everyone can keep work aside and enjoy life.

It's interesting how most holidays fall during festive periods allowing people to have fun, relax, and enjoy the company of their families and friends.

Most people are fond of traveling to the village to see their loved ones during holidays and it is usually memorable.

Imagine being away from your parents for a year or two, or months, when you eventually come to see them carrying those special gifts, the joy that will cloud your heart won't be little.

Well, my next holiday is going to be a great one I can imagine. I didn't enjoy the previous holidays due to one reason or the other but for the coming ones, I am down to do my best to enjoy it to the core.

Last year, I was not able to visit my elder sister during the Christmas holiday as I always do. I can't even find the reason why I didn't but this year, God's willing I would be going to see her, and I am considering taking my mother with me. She has been desiring to go over there but the high cost of transportation has prevented her.

So, if her schedule is not tight when I am going, I might probably take her with me. One thing I love about spending my holidays at my sister's place is the love I get.

I love children a lot, being around them makes me happy and opens my eyes to a lot about life. Lucky me, my sister has children, her last born Jedidiah, is just four years old but he is astute. He is the smallest but he is like the father of the house, the way he behaves and talks makes me wonder if he is really four.

I interact with him like an adult, the smiles on his face, his trouble, and frequent disturbance, “Uncle, give me your phone, “play carton, carry me,” make me always want to be with him.

Hopefully, I will be at their place for the next holiday. I already informed my sister and her husband about it, but plans can change, they say “We make plans but God has the final say.”

It’s absolutely relatable. In my childhood,I used to wait for summer vacations because these were the holidays on which I was allowed to visit my maternal grandparents. Fun there used to be phenomenal.

you are right, the person who work day and night tirelessly for his family, needs holidays so that he spend some quality time with his family and fresh himself.

We need the break to enjoy quality time with our families and to also regain ourselves

Haha 😂. I was also into this holiday crave during my primary and secondary school days. Always counting weeks as they come ago because my mind was always on where to go to once the school vacates.

And I would have been singing like a song to my mother on how to support me when the times comes.

Holidays are truly wonderful days both for workers and those involved in business because we need to help our body by resting and sharing time with our loved ones 🥰💕

Hahaha, those days were fun, one would be wishing for holidays and when you have so much of it, you will want school to resume 😂

Seriously, we need holidays if not for anything but to regain ourselves..
