Let's Purge The Country
Let's Purge The Country
During each election our leaders come with false promises, giving us hope and assurance that things will get better, but just after they win, they become even worse than the previous ones.
I have lost hope in the Nigerian government, we kept encouraging ourselves that things will get better but the opposite is what we get. It's as if every president we elect comes to build upon the wickedness that his predecessor has already started.
So far, one of the regimes I enjoyed in Nigeria was the government of Goodluck Johnathan and Umaru Musa Yar'adua. After them, the rest are a series of afflictions.
I have never put my hope in expecting a turnaround in the Nigerian government like I did in the previous election. Although it was obviously rigged, I had this strong faith that the president is going to be a savior.
Only for him to remove fuel subsidy and not make a provision for the poor to cope amidst the outrageous inflation that arose from the fuel subsidy removal.
Currently the prices of goods in the market and the cost of transportation is like three times what it used to be. I am not against him taking the subsidy away but not making provision for his citizens to cope with the current inflation is what is bothering me.
His action is only favoring the rich and people of big influence like himself but the poor man is facing hell.
If I should become the president of Nigeria for a day there are many things I'll do. I doubt if I'll be able to exhaust them before my time elapses.
Firstly, I am sentencing all political leaders in my country and all their godfathers to life imprisonment. Even if they get to be freed someday, I will pass a law forbidding them from contesting anything in the country again but before I do just that, I'll withdraw all the money in their accounts into the government treasury.
I will use the money to address areas in the nation that are lacking. I'll create job opportunities, build an oil refinery in the country and furnish public hospitals and schools.
Secondly, political tickets would be free for all parties, although strict criteria would be given to contestants for eligibility.
All politicians would receive the same salary as other civil servants. Their treatments would be equal based on their level of qualifications. There won't be any other special allowance. If you want to serve, come and serve, if not quit. Politics is an opportunity to serve and not to make money.
Thirdly, kidnapping, money ritual, murder, and rape is punishable by death. If you get caught in the act and after proper investigation, you appear to be guilty, I am sorry, you will pay with your life.
Fraud and embezzlement is forty years imprisonment. Taking someone's hard-earned money is almost like taking the person's life, probably spending forty years in prison might give you a glimpse of what it feels like.
Any military personnel or police caught accepting bribes or oppressing the people will be dismissed from service and jailed for life, living such a person in society jobless can become a threat to others.
That’s a whole lot of chaos I can see coming. These politicians would never accept to receive the same treatment as other civil servants. But Good luck, Mr President.
