Friends Are Humans Too

Humans were crafted with uniqueness, wonders, beauty, excellence, and a mind-blowing level of intelligence; nevertheless, humans are flesh and blood, and we have flaws and imperfections.

I love friendship, while growing up, I was a guy who wanted to be friends with everyone. I always keep a smiling face, and do things that draw people's attention to myself.

My desire was fulfilled as I had a lot of friends, in fact, at a point, it became like a gift, wherever I went, people naturally want to be around me and call me “friend.”

The truth is, friendship is a beautiful thing; you will have someone to call your own, someone to run to whenever you feel alone, someone you can share your joy and pains with.

I was privileged to enjoy the benefits of friendship many times in my life, and I am still enjoying it.

However, friendship is not a bed of roses; every human also has negative traits, some due to the kind of environment they came from, and some, it's just who they are.

I have met selfish friends, I have met jealous friends, I have met envious friends. You think you have someone who is supposed to have your back, only for you to discover that the person is actually the one trying to pull you down.

Being an emotional person, at a point in my life, I shared my pains, my struggles, and my troubles with my friends. They listened and even counselled me, but later, the same person or people used what I discussed with them to mock me.

You see, I love friendship, but I have learnt a lot. Whosoever said “friends don't lie” was probably excited that day with something a friend did to him or her, but the reality is, friends can be our worse nightmare too.

They are humans for crying out loud, that imperfections in humans will always surface at one point or the other. No matter how good and truthful a friend is, trust me, one day, he or she will lie, and there is nothing we can do about it.

People lie; it's something inherent in many. Trusting the person doesn't make the person perfect. Friends lie, sometimes even to the detriment of their friendship.

I know of a friend who always tells lies; in fact, he lies about almost everything, so I doubt his identity.

We are frail beings; there are certain negative things that will, once in a while, pop up in our lives.

So, it's best we live with the consciousness that we are humans and as such we are capable of doing anything. This will help us enjoy our friendship and relationship with people.

But always expecting good out of people will eventually hurt us and probably destroy a friendship that is supposed to stand.

Honestly, unfortunately some expect perfection from everyone and sadly they end up getting hurt

Exactly the point 💯
Friends are humans and having that ring a bell in our heads all times would make us feel less hurt when we are hurt by them

Exactly, because they no one is above mistake, one way or the other, we will tell lies and if we don't position our hearts to take it as part of humans, we might be terribly hurt
