This Haven Of Mine.
When I was a little girl, I had a very different taste in houses. I wanted a treehouse. I saw them in movies, and they absolutely fascinated me. How were they made? Were they carved out of trees or built on top of them? The idea seemed so amazing. I decided that when I grew up, I was going to have one for myself.
But now? I don’t think I want that anymore. I fear it would give off George of the Jungle vibes, me swinging from tree to tree like some wild adventurer. That's not exactly what I want.
Over time, my preference switched to bunk houses, those wonderful underground homes. I visited one when I went for a school excursion and I thought it would be the coolest thing ever to have a secret haven hidden beneath the surface, a quiet escape just for me. But then, I’d have to keep asking people, “How’s the weather up there?” every time . Yeah, no thanks.
Now, the world of technology is evolving rapidly, and we have smart homes that are nothing short of impressive. The features in modern houses aren’t just about luxury, they actually make life easier and more comfortable. Personally, I wouldn't mind if I have enough funds to make it happen unless I saw a video that changed my mind.
A guy had a voice-activated lock on his front door. Sounds mind-blowing, right? All you have to do is say "open" and the door opens. Wonderful. Well, he had a dentist appointment, got a tooth removed, and when he came back home, the door didn’t recognize his voice. He was locked out in the rain. Meanwhile, his neighbor, who had a simple lock with keys, just walked up, unlocked her door, and went inside, zero stress. That was all I needed to see.
So, what kind of house do I want?
Something really simple and beautiful. Nothing over the top, nothing unnecessarily high-tech. Just a warm, welcoming place that feels like home. I don't mean I won't have any type of technology, just the ones I'll need. I'd love a house with some sort of view, maybe that was why I fell in love with a tree house to start with. I'd like to get house with city skyline view, maybe a penthouse will do. I just imagine being at the rooftop at night chilling in the cool night breeze having a great view of the glowing city lights.
For the interior, I want something simple yet elegant. The color will range from soft, creamy whites to warm tones that create a calm, serene vibe. I wouldn't want noisy colors, they'll be too disturbing. The living room area would be perfect, with a spacious lounge, dining area, and a sleek, modern kitchen.
Emphasis on the sleek and modern. I want to feel unstoppable when I enter my kitchen.
Of course, there'd be enough rooms for my family and friends to relax and be comfortable. Now what's a house without some fun place? I'd like to have my own little home theater because I'm definitely such a huge fan of movies, so it'll make sense to have a place where I can enjoy movies with my friends and family. I'm sure my imagination can go wild thinking about other things to spice up my home, but I still want to keep it minimal though. So this is how much I want for my dream house, nothing too dramatic. Just a roof over my head with some levels of comfort and style.
