Have you ever been chased by a dog?
I'm not talking about those cute and hairy dogs that looks like they can't even hurt a fly.
I'm talking about street dogs.
The ones you find around your neighborhood that seem like they have no owner but infact they do.
My advice
Avoid those dogs
They can chase you down to your grave without sweating it. Don't even bother to look their way while walking on the road or even dare to come close when the owner says "it doesn't bite"

This is the story of my life once upon a time...

We had to this granny in our neighborhood whom the kids called 'nma nkita' in our dialect (mother of dogs). She was famous for having lots of dogs then. She raises them and when they give out puppies,she sells them. It was one of the businesses she did. She also had this mini provision shop where she sells few things that can help out in the home. The only reason I preferred her shop to other shops around was that it was closer to my house then. I don't need to walk 10 minutes away from home to buy something when I can just walk 3 minutes. I also hated going to the woman's shop because of her dogs,she has this particular dog that is very aggressive.
I don't know if it's just me or everyone else but each time I go there,that particular one will start growling at me as a warning that I shouldn't come close and the woman will laugh each time and say"come my child,it will not do anything to you". I will go as the woman says but I will always watch my back to know when the dog gets up.

Since her shop is in front of her house, sometimes she goes inside to take care of some things. When you come to buy something, you'll need to go in and call her out for her to sell out for you. Whenever I go there and I check from a distance and I don't see her,I always walk away because her dogs are always guarding her shop whenever she goes inside to prevent people from stealing her goods.

In my house,my parents gave us a 6pm curfew that is very rigid. You cannot flaunt the order and you dare not try to.
On this particular day when I was kinda 11 years old,I decided to play very smart,as a typical Aba girl wey I be naaa
My dad is usually home earlier from work most times before my mom. Around 5pm,my dad is usually on his way home. Mom comes 6pm or later. That particular day,my dad came home earlier as usual qnd my mom came back 6pm, meaning that no body is supposed to go out again. But then,one of our relatives visited and both my parents got busy gisting and talking with her and I figured out they were distracted,they won't notice if sneaked out and thankfully there was power outage,it was dark and I'm unstoppable.

You know how kids will always brag about thing they have especially fancy things?
So in school one of my friends will always come and brag about this new candy that comes with a fake stickers. She showed us how she used the stickers to decorate the cover of her books and it looked really cool and I was determined to show her mine the next day. They sold one of that candy for 10 naira and I have been saving up to buy that candy.
That night I had the complete 100 naira I wanted to use to get 10 candies for myself

I wasn't bothered how I was going to eat of them,I just wanted those stickers.
So I set out on that dangerous mission,succeeded in sneaking out with the help of our last born.....that girl don follow me plan plenty dangerous adventures which I'm always the victim. I had already promised to give her half of my wealth when I return from my candy hunt mission successfully and she agreed to cover for me.

When I got to the woman's shop,she wasn't there,that means it's either I go back or I go to call her out. There is no way I'm going back so I looked inside and shop carefully,I didn't see any dog.
They're sleeping,after all it's late in the night or so I thought?

I walking with all confidence with my 100 naira into the woman's compound. I haven't even reached the main entrance when this dog jumped out of nowhere

I heard that particular one delivered puppies making it 10x more aggressive

This dog chased me and ran like never before shouting "mummmyy mummyyy ehhh"
I don't remember how long I ran,but I finally found myself inside the shop of this woman that fries Akara for the neighborhood. I fell flat on my face just when I reached her shop,stood up immediately like nothing happened and flew inside her shop with sand all over me.
People had already helped me to scare the dog away while it was chasing me but I didn't even notice
I was just running for my life.

I was crying out of fear inside that woman's shop and didn't come out until one of her customers that was going my way decided to walk with me because I was so afraid that the dog may be waiting for me to return.

When I got home,I didn't even say a word to anybody. Not even to my sister that was waiting for me to return with the 5 candies I promised her. I just went and took a cold bath and slept. The next day at school,I used the money to buy Buns
