Never Will I Ever... Forget.
What is one path you can always walk back on at any point in your life? You're right! It's the memory lane and that is exactly what I'll be doing for this post. Let's talk about 5 'I'll never forget moments in my life', Stick around.
I'll never forget... the day I pranked my Aunt when I was living with her. So apparently she scolded me so much for some reason I can't even remember now so I made her think I ran away from her home. We had this guest room that no one rarely ever goes to stay, it's meant for guests as you can tell from the name. That night, I took my blankets and went to sleep in the corridor leading to the guest room on the tile floor. I knew she'd always come in our room in the middle of the night sometimes. So as I guessed right, she walked into our room and she couldn't find me. She asked my cousin where I was and she swore she didn't know, even though she knew, yeah I told her to say that. I know her mind will never cross checking for me in the guest room, even after calling my name and telling my cousin to go and look around the compound for me. I was awake all through that time laughing silently at the drama. She was already panicking like "what will I tell her parents?" My cousin was so good at spicing things with the things she was saying, my stomach was hurting because of laughter. In the morning, I purposely refused to wake up on time, she had already called some of her children telling them I got missing. I quietly got up from my hiding place and went to say good morning to her, she was so speechless. Goodness, I nearly gave the old woman a heart attack. Oddly satisfying
I'll never forget... the day I slept off at the point of having dinner. I could remember being so stressed from school during my secondary school, especially when I was about to take the final exams. Coming back from school, doing chores and attending online preparatory classes too. That particular day, I had one particular topic I was trying to cover up for exams the next day. I was already very sleepy, I had my books open and I was having dinner at the same time. Long story short I slept off with meat inside my mouth, I didn't even swallow it or cleared the plates. Woke up to notice that the Eba has dried on my hands, my plates, the books I was reading, everything was just a mess. I got up and cleaned my mouth first, washed my hands and took the books far away with the words "If I perish, I perish".
I'll never forget... the day my little cousin drank petrol on my watch. That has to be the most terrifying babysitting moments I've ever had. Everyone knew was she very hyper as a child so I made sure to keep my eyes on her always. On this fateful day, I was attending to things inside while I left her to play with the other kids in our compound. The next thing I heard was the kids coming to complain "Ruby drank fuel"
What!
I didn't know whether to be happy that I finally have a little cousin who was highly inflammable or to shout at her. Anyways, I made sure she drank a considerable amount of palm oil to serve as an antidote? I mean, I think the Nigeria in me kicked in that one time, though I'm still yet to understand that theory.
I'll never forget... when my Dad decided to go cook stew for the family. He was ranting how much unhealthy we've been eating so he wanted to show us what eating healthy means. In other words, he wanted us to incorporate more vegetables in our meals so we won't get grey hairs at 30. This man made stew with pumpkin leaves, water leaf and curry leaves. Oh my vegetarian!". My big Brother was dumbfounded when he opened the supposed lunch his father made and couldn't help but lament in the DM. The pain, the torment, the torture.
I'll never forget... the day my elder sister finally got her baby after 4 consecutive miscarriages. Tears of joy were streaming down my face as I watched hold the baby so tight like she was afraid she might lose her too if she go. It was such a joyous day in my family, everyone were in high spirits and we could stop thanking the almighty who made it happen.
Here comes to the end of my blabbing session, I would've told you how I climbed over our fence that one day I locked myself out after sneaking to a friend's house but what will now happen to my steeze? Fine girl like me, maximum composure 24/7.
See ya!
