Unapologetically Hitting The Download Button.

I didn't have to think twice on seeing this prompt. Downloading will always be the answer. Streaming just doesn’t give me that seamless, uninterrupted flow, especially with how unstable the network can be. In fact this is one of the reasons I don't ever think of streaming movies. Imagine settling in for a very interesting movie, completely locked into the suspense, only for the network to start acting up right when the tension is at the max. Annoying doesn’t even begin to describe how it feels . I love to fully immerse myself in my movies, that’s the only way to truly enjoy them. Just like @ibbtammy described the whole cinema mood, it was so relatable. I need my experience to be smooth, with no interruptions whatsoever

Another major reason I would go with downloading anytime, is how much it makes my phone overheat and start glitching. The few times I've tried streaming wasn't all enjoyable. My apps start freezing, my screen gets unresponsive, and it feels like my phone can be used to iron a dress. And let’s not even talk about the battery drain. I could start streaming a movie at 90%, and before I know it, I’m down to 70% or lower, which would have been a different story if I downloaded instead. My phone would stay cool, my battery would last longer, and I wouldn’t have to stress about suddenly looking for a charger in the middle of a good scene.

And if we’re talking about music, it’s even worse. Imagine a busy Nigerian Saturday at home, you’re deep into chores, vibing to your playlist, waiting for that one part of the song where you get to sing out the lyrics with all your heart, and there's where the network will decide to act up. The song starts glitching right at the best part.

Fumes in burning rage.
I hate it.

Most people argue that streaming saves space and is lighter when it comes to data usage, but honestly, that’s not even a problem for me. If the movie is that good, there'll always be enough storage space. Even if I have to delete some irrelevant things in my phone. I prefer to do that than deal with constant network interruptions and overheating. Besides, downloading gives me control. There’s something satisfying about knowing I have my favorite movies and songs saved and ready to play anytime, anywhere, no network needed, no stress. And if I love a movie enough, best believe I’m keeping it for a rewatch. I might remeber a line someone said in the movie or a particular iconic scene and I'm running back to relive that moment. Having to go searching the internet for it again sounds like a lot of work.

I'm not that patient

When it comes to series, I refuse to be at the mercy of release schedules. If a show drops, I’d rather wait, download the whole season, and then watch whenever I want. That whole “one episode today, next episode next week” life is not for me. I can’t be dealing with cliffhangers and streaming one after the other, when I can have everything sitting pretty in my gallery, ready to be watched back-to-back without interruption.

Anyway, that's all about my preference. If you love streaming, I'm sure you must have reasons for your choice, but as for me and my entertainment, we shall always download.
