Too Deep?

The Hive platform has produced some of the greatest optimists I have come across in my three decades on Earth. Since I joined this platform (then Steem), I have seen only mere glimpses of what is possible on this platform - in terms of price, public acceptance and value proposition. The rest of those times have been rather dark when the platform struggles for an extended period of time.

Of course along the way more than a handful of people have given up on the dream and moved on. Even for some of us that have refused to move on it is rather sentimental attachment than anything else. I believe these categories constitute the majority. Yet, and it might seem like a handful of people, but for some the flame still burns like the token was launched yesterday.

Personally I still hold the Hive dream of going mainstream and becoming the go-to community platform across a wide variety of sectors. Yet, I admittedly do not hold as much belief or enthusiasm as some of the people I admire on this platform. I wonder if it is just normal with the passage of time, or if my personal decisions contributed along the way.

It is really difficult to simply walk away from anything one has invested in, especially when the desired outcome has not materialized. Of course the more time and effort we invest, the more optimistic we tend to be about the outcome. While optimism is generally a good thing, it certainly begs for caution when we become disillusioned or irrational in our optimism.

Yet irrationality isn't what I see here. Yes, I see people who are overly optimistic but I also see extremely patient investors who can stand the many phases Hive is bound to go through till we get there. I appreciate everyone who has retained their hope in this platform, and motivates the rest of us to keep going.

I'm doubtful about Hive, but happy to be proved wrong in this last phase of the bull market this year for price to pump briefly. As for adoption, I don't know why it isn't happening as I thought it would. Tokenized social media is the way to go.
