Sugercoating
A satisfaction survey was sent out about two weeks ago for employees of my company. We were all encouraged to fill the forms both honestly and transparently. It has been all of two weeks and as of now, the response rate continues to hover around 30 percent.
I see it as a form of protest. I have for instance refused to fill the form because I feel it is one way of communicating my displeasure with a lot of processes that I believe are wrong. For there to be so many people that have towed the same response line, they probably reason along the same line as I do. I believe generally employees are unhappy with the organizations excesses, but are too scared to speak out.
If I do get to filling the form though, I probably wouldn't be sugercoating my displeasure. Some people are of the opinion that we should be rational in our approach to filling the survey, as it is also utilized by external bodies. It is out of respect for my company (they are my employers after all) that I have declined participation from the survey. However, if I am compelled to fill, I would not be holding any reservations.
The truth is supposed to set us free after all.
Hello. If you don't fill out the questionnaire, how will management know about the processes you are dissatisfied with? How will the truth set you free?
