Silent Angels

A big part of growing up is realising that one is largely alone in their corner. You have to be your source of strength, motivation and direction for the most parts of your life. One is also quickly accustomed to how selfish we are as beings and how we put our own interests and desires above everything else.

The evil in people and their tendency for malevolence, betrayal and other vices is also made prominent as we age. Sometimes we fall victims to these vices or are even the executors ourselves. It is something that weakens our collective trust and faith in our own humanity and abilities to function as a cohesive society I believe.

Some people in response become isolated from others, unable to trust or be trusted. Some of us even make what I believe is the ultimate betrayal - which is of ourselves - either by our actions or our lack of trust. Just when it seems like the prospects are bleak, some people step up as guardian angels.

There are some around us who have been nothing but blessings to us, who make us believe in our greater humanity. For most people it comes from family, others find it in romance. While those are valid, I've so often found this light from random strangers who silently do goos deeds without really asking for anything in return. They are not as uncommon as you think as I can list a few even here on the Hive platform.

Just know that if you're a blessing to me, or others, you're the reason our collective faith in humanity is renewed, and have our eternal gratitude.
