Save Yourself First
It is so often we imagine ourselves been rescued from an unpleasant situation. When things get really difficult or overwhelming instantly our minds begin to see the task as difficult and overwhelming, so our brains tend to embrace the idea of an external force coming to our rescue. It is a lot easier for us to imagine, rather than us having to dig ourselves out of whatever situation we find ourselves.
Help indeed does come to those who are in need of it; and we really cannot do certain things alone. That said though, an intervention rarely comes because we wish it. Even for those who are deliberate about seeking help, there are no guarantees that salvation is on the way. The way that helps comes instead is mostly to the deserving, who have created an atmosphere to receive support probably through all the support they have given out themselves.
Meriting support is a tricky task, because it means not admitting that we require it and simply going about our normal functions. It you ignore completely the need for support, there is a good probably that it comes eventually. Those who are truly deserving have worked to get results by themselves and perhaps for one reason or the other need that push to finally have a breakthrough.
I see Hive as a prime example. We definitely could do with a boost to make the platform mainstream. Yet with that said, the platform has shown a great deal of meritocracy by continued improvements on a daily basis. We definitely don't need an intervention, but could be greatly helped by one. I believe something will eventually come up, because we have definitely done the right things as a project.
