Punished

Actions have consequences and as an adult I've come to realize and accept this as a fact. However, what I don't necessarily entertain are harsh judgements and condemnations over the slightest little mistakes like I've come to be accustomed at my office.

I see those who are ever so ready to mete out the harshest punishments and sometimes realize that most of them couldn't beat what they are very willing to dish out. Such is the irony of things that one has become accustomed to. Most people cannot take what they are willing to dish out and can quite easily get away with it as long as they are in a position to judge.

It's why I practiced selective listening for such a long time. Those who aren't quite qualified seem to be the most willing, or at least the loudest in giving out advice. We see this in life generally. People give advice across all ranges in places where we they struggle, or have failed. I used to take notable exceptions with this practice till I realized l, and accepted that anyone could actually impact us positively if we allow it. After all, people seem to see the imperfections of others more clearly than they do theirs.

This method that my current company employs to keep us in check is something I'll never agree with. As much as I believe in actions and consequences I also believe in empathy and positive motivation. I still remain though, so I guess they'll simply be lessons am stacking up for the future.
