Many Faces of Success
Anxiety comes in many forms but financial anxiety is certainly one of the most common forms for it to manifest. Once you become an adult it hits pretty hard especially if you're like me and lacking a silver spoon from birth. For most of us it is a constant, relentless and consistent struggle that always keeps us on edge. Any potential setbacks can of course hasten the process and can quickly change the course of events.
Of course constant financial struggles can make us feel like we are underachievers and the digital edge certainly has amplified the achievements of others right in our faces. We see success stories and people living larger than life over the internet on a regular basis. I've often tried to get certain anxious thoughts out of my head but they do reoccur from time to time. There also seems to be no timeline for the end of these concerns. Maybe when I become a millionaire, who knows.
Success has tried to be defined in many forms, and we definitely have a diverse view of what it means today. Universally though, financial success is the biggest yardstick for measurement. So here's what I think about unnecessary financial anxiety. Nobody that is striving hard everyday can be considered a failure. If we grow to the extent that we are no longer liabilities to our communities, families and selves, then we probably deserve more credit than we get. If we can be assets on the other hand we become even more valuable and can be considered automatic success stories.
As much as many are disillusioned with billionaire business owners they have no doubt created value for themselves and their communities, some evening extending to the entire World. We that operate in much smaller scales should rightfully hold our heads high in spite of our daily struggles.
Whatever it is you set out to do and you achieve it, that is success… no matter how insignificant it might seem.
