Hi, Am A Role-player

I believe the term 'Role-player' is more common in basketball than it is anywhere else. Be that as it may, the meaning carries across board. I believe that just like in the Basketball court there are stars and there are role-players, and we all have positions where we perform best.
Everyone in retrospect wants to be a star. We all work very hard (or at least most of us) to ensure that we get to the pinnacle of whatever career path we have chosen. A few find their prayers answered and achieve massive success from their chosen fields. Many factors attribute to their success - Luck, talent, hard-work, influence or sheer willpower.
Yet the stark reality for the overwhelming majority of us dreamers is that those initial dreams of achieving massive success doesn't quite happen. We are instead forced to make adjustments and alignments with passing time. I recall quite vividly my Post-University dreams and how things haven't quite materialized.
We come to see ourselves in a different light while trying to make the best of circumstances. It turned out that being the focal point was not the only way to record success. A lot of us could actually have less glorious outcomes and still be satisfied. For me I've come to see my daily Supervisory role at the office as an important wheel in the Machine that is the company. Sure I may never get to the pinnacle of Executive Management, but at the very least I'll ensure my department produces the best result it can under my supervision.
