Dream Hive

It has been a while since I did a Hive imaginary post. In terms of development I think we're still moving steadily but in terms of progress things have been a bit slow. Hive is certainly at the forefront of social media for most of us, and we spend a significant amount of time in it. What that means is that the community certainly wants, and awaits the success of the platform.

But how will success look like for many of us? Of course there are some rather clear indicators of what a successful Hive platform will look like, with the most obvious being the number of active users growing exponentially. More active users mean more advertising revenue and certainly more opportunities for the true creatives on this platform to grow at an individual capacity.

But success doesn't also have to be elaborate. We can have a more nuanced version of success on the platform with the right circumstances. We don't necessarily need to have Twitter like influence or YouTube like following to have a successful Hive. Many of us can still recall the days this place was filled with spammers and scammers. The work done to have made this place a rather homely place for blogging and interacting has been quite impressive.

The potential and possibilities are still there. The growth can still happen. There are still several ways it can happen. The beauty of Hive I believe is that our standards for success are not as greedy as mainstream media outlets. I believe reaching those standards are very possible.
