Middle Ground

Is it right to always want your way in an argument? To think that somehow being right is the only pathway to a tangible resolution. To dismiss the opinions of others or at the very least ignore them because your wishes and desires are in direct conflict with the them. It is a rather interesting fact about our behaviours that we tend to ignore.

Some people cannot readily accept that certain things simply won't bend to their wills and desires. I think it is a rather unhealthy desire to want others to bend to our wills at all times. Yet we do this either consciously or subconsciously, constantly trying to 'straighten' the 'bent' opinions of others.

As much as I understand the importance of having a like minded circle, I also believe that dissenting views shouldn't simply be tossed out the window. At the very least people should be given the opportunity to see just how high their opinions hold in the long term, and make their own mistakes. Taking that privilege isn't an option, as it only creates a bigger trust issue in the future.
