Yesterday Was Children's Day / A day well spent with children from different colleges, primary and secondary schools students in Wamba, Nasarawa State..

In Nigeria , children's day is celebrated yearly on 27th May. Is not necessary for workers but is a public holiday for nursery, primary and secondary schools. Children's day is a public holiday that's duely declared by the federal government to observed and promote the children development, children welfare and promote the children awareness. It's shows the children's rights and importance for better wellbeing, better health care services and better education as a child.

This is students of SUMREH COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL WAMBA, NASARAWA STATE, NIGERIA.
Most of the schools dressed in their amazing colorful students uniforms or design costumes. You will see this little children or teenagers performing different things, like acting drama, dance music of different cultures, sports competition, spelling bee competition, quiz competition, debate on children right on education, peace and unity in the society and country as large. They will rehear poetry and discuss about social issues in the country.

Some children or schools might be hosted in a television show or radio stations to air or act as presenters to anchor the children's day programs and talk about child support and abuse, and a lot of topics that's related to children and their future. It's also a time to talked about the challenges of some schools that's not well equipped with good equipments and lacking adequate teachers for good educational backgrounds due to poor educational systems and poor accessing of healthcare services.

Parents and adults will take advantage of this children's day programs to spend time with their children, enjoy their children favorite food and go out for sports together. Some of the schools or children engaged themselves in showcasing their talents and skills, decorating of cakes and baking.

Most importantly, children's day is not all about children but at times even the parents also participated in one way or the other and ensure the children are properly observed and given the right opportunity to display themselves.

And at times, official government do attend and inspect the public grounds to see how the children's day exercises is going on and see how the children perform the parades at the school grounds or stadiums.
Even in some areas or locality, you will see NGO or churches will organized support for children of less underprivileged and buy books and bags and shoes for children and even pay some of the students schools fees.

Also, some organizations will organized talkshow for children and teach them about child abuse, child labor and the importance of girl child education because a lot of culture doesn't allow girl child education or girl child to go to school. Once a girl reach a certain level of age, they will give her out or force her out for marriage.

Some NGO visits the orphanages, hospitals, to give out and support the children with food, clothes and even buy toys so children will play with it and spend time with the children. This particular is very common among religious organization and youth groups for youth empowerment.

Indeed, children's day is a remarkable day to celebrate our children and support their dreams and visions for the betterment of their future.

I believed yesterday children's day was celebrated peacefully ,lovely and wonderfully among children out there.
