My Weekend Experience/ Learning Of Trumpets

Hello everyone, greetings to all hive members and especially to weekend experience community members. This is my first time of posting and sharing my experiences and thoughts with you guys here. I was introduced to this amazing Weekend Experience community by a lovely brother ovey10 and am glad I am here. I believed you people will learn from my experiences and I will learn from you people as well.
Today I will share my experience about learning trumpets.

Learning trumpets have to do with a lot of musical knowledge and physical strength or skills. As a beginner, I went and join the Boys Brigade of ERCC Bethel Land Agwa kpadom Akwanga, on their band rehearsal day and told them I want to be part of them and learn how to play trumpet and I was welcomed

I saw a lot of children under 7 years and above were playing trumpets and some were also struggling learning what they have been taught in their previous class already. I never felt embarrassed or ashamed seeing or standing together in the same que or before those little children and learn with them. As long as am determined and passionate about learning this trumpet, nothing can stop or weigh me down even if is a child that will show me and teach me I will gladly humbled myself and learn from the child.

I was taught the basics and parts of the trumpet. I was also taught how to hold the trumpet and position myself properly. I learned about disassembling and assembling of the trumpet and also how to control my breathe while exercise. I started with middle C, that's key C. Playing trumpets need someone to practice long tones in order to produced correct tone sound or quality.

And also, One major lesson I have learned was that while learning trumpets, starting with simple tunes, practice with fingering correctly and regular practice helps and make one learn faster. When you listen to those people playing trumpets, you will hear different sounds and tones and gradually you can draw inspiration from them. I knew the moment I started playing the lessons they have given me I will learn fast and I will put more efforts and be committed for attending trumpets classes, take lessons in person or even go online and develop myself.

I felt in love with trumpets and am certain I will know how to play it. Once I know how to play trumpet, I will teach my own church band members, not all of them but only those that are interested in learning trumpets. In our church band, nobody knows how to play trumpet, is also a challenge for the entire band members and am focus on learning trumpets in order to use it in the band and beautify our ministration during Sunday services and rehearsal days.

Look at this boy holding and playing this big trumpet, his name is Patrick Joel and is 11 years old. I was told he started coming for band rehearsal at the age of 7 years. He loves trumpets so much. They said when the boy was much younger , at the age of 7 years the moment he heard the sound of trumpets he will just leave whatever he was doing and ran to the place they were playing the trumpets. He had passion and found so much interest in learning and see how far the little boy is doing now. As little as he is now, 11 years old, he learned and started playing the bigger trumpet.

As long as the boy is determined to learn it nothing was able to stopped him and now he was playing it. So also I will put more efforts to see I have learn and commitment myself in learning trumpets of different kinds with different skills attached to it.

It's my earnest prayers that one day, I will be able to play trumpet for myself, for my church, and playing for other churches and play at programs for ministration as well if am invited. I know learning trumpets takes time, therefore, I will be patient and persistent and I pray one day, I will be able to produce a clear, rich and consistent sound or tone.
