Greetings, dear and beloved friends. I hope you all have a happy and blessed day. I must tell you that every Christmas, when the time came for the little ones to receive their gifts, it was always a source of concern for me. For us, as families with autistic children, we know that it is not easy to choose the perfect gift for our children. We face the dilemma of whether to buy a gift that is appropriate for their age, a toy that we like and consider beautiful and perfect for our children, something that is durable and educational, or simply something that our little one likes, no matter what it may be. </center
From my perspective at home, as a mother, I got tired of buying expensive and beautiful toys that my little one would look at for a few minutes and then a few days later they would be thrown away or broken.
I decided to focus on finding something that my little one would like so that he would be happy to receive this gift. Who better than us, his parents, to know his preferences? So, since last year, we have been paying more attention to our little one's preferences, and when this date came around, we thought about what we could get for him. I don't know how it is in your home, but my little one is very changeable, meaning that his tastes vary over time, so what he liked last year is not the same as what he likes this year.
So, during Christmas 2024, we noticed that our little one really likes soft things and is very sensitive to touch, so we decided to look for a toy that he could touch, and what could be better than a soft and silky stuffed animal? This year we bought him a large shark-shaped stuffed animal, and I think it's because it's what he liked the most and has lasted the longest out of everything we've bought him.
Since that day, my little one has played with this stuffed animal every day. He can spend hours sitting on his bed just petting it or combing its hair.
And it made me very happy to get it right this time and see him happy with his toys.
For Christmas 2025, we can see that he likes sounds, that is, musical objects, and if they have flashing lights, even better. So, I had a bad experience at the toy store when I thought about buying him a baby toy, since those are the ones that have sounds and lights. However, I'll tell you that those were the most expensive toys in the store, and because of the situation and the fact that we have two more little girls to buy toys for, we couldn't buy those toys because of the high cost. However, we started looking at other options, and my husband saw a toy that could be the perfect choice.
It was a buildable truck, one of those that comes with a toy screwdriver and is assembled with plastic screws, which children can take apart and put back together as they please. This truck also has three buttons on top with three different sounds that light up when pressed.
Without a doubt, this encompassed everything we were looking for, so we decided on it, and let me tell you, it was also a good choice because from the first day the child got this toy, he took it out of the box and completely took it apart, and then, without any help, he put it back together with incredible ease and patience. Then, when he discovered that pressing the buttons on top made a sound and light up, he liked it even more. This has been our music throughout December and so far this year. Thank God the battery still has power.
I think that many times we parents worry about unimportant things based on our preferences or what others might say. I believe that the most important thing should be what makes our little ones happy.

A veces es todo un reto hallar el juguete perfecto para nuestros hijos, pero como dices, somos nosotros, madres y padres quienes mejor conocemos sus gustos y preferencias, mi Dylan siempre ha amado las pelotas.
Mí pequeño en un tiempo le gustaban las pelotas y sabía lanzarla y atraparla con su padre pero de un tiempo para acá las muerde y las rompe.
Ellos cambian mucho sus intereses mientras van creciendo.
