What a fantastic project. I like that the little man got involved as well. It looks very sturdy and I'm sure that it will last for ages. Lol I wasn't mad at all about seeing the glue, I'm glad you have the good stuff.

You said that you split the wood when you put in one of the screws, I am always scared I'm going to do that so I always drill a pilot hole a few sizes smaller than the screw I'll be using and not as deep, it is a bit of extra work, but I learned the hard way when building a book shelf many years ago and it bugged me ever since.

Your wife is probably going to want you to build her one for the kitchen, I'm also vertically challenged and often have to lug a chair to the kitchen to reach the things on the top shelf. My housemate finds it amusing, he's much taller than me so doesn't have that problem.

Great work, I am sure it's going to make a huge difference to your workstation.

The only trouble with this is that it's fairly heavy lol not like 50 pounds but it's probably 10 pounds so it's awkward to move. I think my wife would rather just shout for me to get it lol

Yeah I drilled pilot holes in it, but my mistake was screwing it in too tight after it was in. I should have left it a little loose. I thankfully glued every piece as well so there's no way it will fall off but it was dismaying to see. I eventually will get a cordless finish nail gun, that's been on my list of "need" tools for a long time lol I just haven't been able to justify the purchase :D. I want a corded one but we don't have space for an air compressor as well, so cordless will do. DeWalt makes a good one and it's the batteries I've got.

One of these days you’ll get some of the good stuff glue! Lol
