"IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON" STARTS
Back to school season just got started, it's a new acedemic session and all pupils and students are back to classes, but guess what this is another rounds of the school runs 😂 that actually means all the routine of having to get up early in the morning, prepare breakfast and launch for school, prepare the kids and take them to school every Monday to Friday ..
It's another Season of stress
Back To School comes with a lot of demands, expenses on books, bags, pen, pencils including uniforms shoes and stocks sketch boards etc. And to top it all the high rising cost of things in the country now is so alarming very little goes for so much, the country is currently experiencing inflation like never BEFORE
This is a new fresh term as full acedemic session runs for nine months, which is broken down into three months per term, this new term start 11th of September and will run till mid November when the schools will close the first acedemic term for the holidays, and will resume second term mid of january new year, then that will run up for the next three months till the year is completed.
THE Educational system here is a little bit stable for those at these level, primary and the secondary stage were the teachers are often taken care of by the state government by extension the federal since we run a federal system of Government so the state do keep up with the payment of salaries to school teachers altho it's very small to go buy, especially now that things are very expensive, this is not compared to the private school teachers who earns a lot better than their colleagues in the public sector, My country runs a mixed economy hence the private and public system co-existing.
THE PRIVATE SYSTEMS
AS the new session began parents began moving their kids from one school to another looking for schools with excellent teachers good learning facilities, were their kids will be adequately taken care of and looked after, taken off from home and dropped off after schools great environment that promotes excellent learning, some might opt for schools with boarding facilities or day school which ever suites their needs, these private schools are own by individuals and so they are fully furnished equipped with state of the art learning facilities, topnotch learning environment class rooms, but hey this will pull alot of funds from your pocket, of course you want the best for your child but parents must also consider the cost that comes with this system of education...
They also offer varieties of other skills for pupils like learning musical instruments, sports career days, counseling and guidance, get together dinner award night for outstanding and brilliant students which calls for competition among students, these extra curricular activities really triggers learning.
THE PUBLIC SYSTEM
This is owned by the government (state), this mostly subsidize so the common masses can afford the fees, but hey this comes with a lot of ups and downs On it, there's are lot of reasons why my kids don't attend here, there's a lot of negligence since it's government owned no adequate facilities for learning, many kids are stuff into one class, teacher's are not effective in teaching, maybe at their own chanced and spare time, do they teach with less effort to see their pupils do well, the public schools here are direct opposite of what the privates stands for, also the government do not care much about how these schools fare neither are the teachers paid well and on time.
Tell me about yours How's the school system in your country is this also a new acedemic year? Maybe this is universal or maybe not,
It's good to have you around.
It is sad when a country's crisis affects the education system because it is supposed to be about future generations and if they are not well prepared, then greater problems arise in the long term, it is something that we experience here in Venezuela.
I think this is where communities like this one become more important, because it has been the turn of many parents to reinforce at home the knowledge they learn at school and through the advice of the members they can find better ways to do it.
I wish you all the best for the beginning of the new acedemic season.
Wow, it's so good to hear from you, basically it's almost the same thing, however some of the contents here can really go along way to help parents, with some basic Unschooling tips....
Hahaha... our government here do not understand that at all, the basic elementary level are better a little bit, the universities education is the worst government don't even care much so the university bodies frequently embark on industrial action to draw the attention of the government to their demands, this can span for almost a year...
However we pray for the best and better days ahead
A good review, but please keep posts here relevant to homeschooling. For more general education based posts the Education community is a better choice.
