Iglesia San Nicolas de Bari, Porlamar, Isla de Margarita [Esp/Eng]

Hola, amigos, ¿qué tal como están? Cómo están pasando ese fin de semana, por acá, gracias a Dios, todo bien. Espero que este fin de semana sea hoy, mañana y siempre bendecido día para todos ustedes.

En la mañana de hoy tuve la oportunidad de ir a la iglesia San Nicolás de Bari y no dudé en compartir mi experiencia con ustedes, ya que en alguno de mis posts les mostré la plaza de las muñecas de Porlamar y no les pude mostrar la iglesia.

This morning I had the opportunity to go to the San Nicolas de Bari church and I didn't hesitate to share my experience with you, since in one of my posts I showed you the Plaza de las muñecas in Porlamar and I couldn't show you the church.

Esta iglesia, particularmente a mí, nunca había entrado y la verdad es que llamaba mucho mi atención por su forma, lo grande que era y así como también porque siempre la veía cerrada, lo cual para mí no resultaba ser tan normal en el caso de una iglesia.

Mucho menos siendo el caso de una iglesia católica que se encuentra céntrica, que lo más normal es que la gente siempre va a ellas, por eso siempre me parecía extraño. El motivo de mi visita fue porque a mi novio lo eligieron de padrino de bautizo de la hija de su amigo y nos tocó asistir.

I had never been inside this church and the truth is that it attracted my attention because of its shape, its size and also because I always saw it closed, which for me was not so normal in the case of a church.

Even less so in the case of a Catholic church in the centre of town, where it is normal that people always go there, which is why it always seemed strange to me. The reason for my visit was because my boyfriend had been chosen as godfather for the christening of his friend's daughter and we had to attend.

La iglesia es sumamente amplia la verdad bien cuidada llamo mi atención que San Nicolás no estaba en su puesto para mi suerte se encontraba en la iglesia uno de mis profesores de la universidad lo cual me indicó que San Nicolás lo tuvieron que bajar porque en su lugar había una filtración en la iglesia y se estaba reparando antes de que llegaran sus fiestas y el motivo era porque al estar céntrica habían robado muchas veces así como también las personas solían entrar e interrumpir las cosas muchas veces.

El ambiente, aunque caluroso porque estábamos encerrados, era bastante pacífico. La verdad, todo muy tranquilo y bonito. Me encantó la ceremonia y el nicho donde estaba la virgen de los dolores con la pila bautismal, de verdad que todo muy lindo. ¡Saludos, amigos!

The church is very spacious and very well kept. I noticed that St. Nicholas was not in his place, fortunately for me one of my university professors was in the church and he told me that St. Nicholas had to be taken down because there was a leak in the church and it was being repaired before his feast day and the reason was because the church had been robbed many times and people used to enter and interrupt things many times.

The atmosphere, although hot because we were locked in, was quite peaceful. It was really quiet and beautiful. I loved the ceremony and the niche where the Virgin of Sorrows was with the baptismal font, really very nice. Greetings, friends!
