The manger is a religious tradition, where the birth of the baby Jesus is celebrated, according to the scriptures of Israel, the angels warned the shepherds when the lambs were born and in the stone manger, which was a feeding trough, they placed the perfect lambs and sacrificed them for sins.
When Jesus was born, he was placed in the manger being a great and powerful being, surrounded by great characters that transcend in history and that will never go out of fashion.
Being a heavenly being, who gave his life for us, leaving great works and miracles granted daily.
In every home, according to taste and colour, it is placed with devotion following tradition.
In front of my home is the church of San Jacinto de Polonia, with an antiquity of 400 moons and when the well-known Spanish father, Juan Francisco Hernández, arrived, he began to simulate the crib in a stable with large statues and over the years they simulated it in caves, in houses, in stones according to the tastes of the designers and beliefs, of course.
Under the collaboration of its inhabitants, with the support of the Diocese they acquired each piece that is currently in the crib, I consider it one of the best cultural works of the state of Trujillo, Venezuela.
Since I was a child I have admired the ability to create such lively and unique panoramas, mixing recycled material, natural bushes, steel, the washing machine motor to simulate the rivers and the diversity of lights that makes it wonderful, as if to spend hours looking at them.
This work is done 3 months in advance, in order to meet the expectations that I present to you below:
We started with a beautiful colony, showing warrior, hard-working and fighting people, chopping wood to make their food and to acquire warmth in rainy weather, the ladies washing clothes in the river, known as washerwomen of the time.
And each magi came from the east, according to the biblical story, with Balthasar from Africa, Melchior from Europe and Gaspar from Asia, each in different, movie-like panoramas.
Step by step, they visited the stable of the Christ Child, carrying with them a variety of gifts such as gold, myrrh and frankincense, arriving on January 6th with the help of the shooting star that guided them.
Heavenly beings, they give supernatural signs to their believers.
Delighted to be part of this beautiful Christmas tradition.
