Saludos Hivers, les quiero contar una experiencia que además expone una realidad y hasta una reflexión, pero me gustaría que ustedes también debatan, dejen sus comentarios porque me parece un tema muy interesante. El pasado diciembre del 2025 me invitaron para hacerle cobertura a la tradicional Clínica- formativa para las Escuelas de Béisbol menor del estado Guárico que se realizó en el Estadio “Pancho Pepe Croquer” de San Juan de los Morros, la capital guariqueña, este es un evento organizado por los prospectos de las Organizaciones de la MLB y todos aquellos peloteros profesionales de esta entidad llanera, donde le impartieron parte de sus conocimientos a los niños, pero además le ofrecieron palabras muy valiosas que pueden funcionar perfectamente como un impulso o motivación si desean continuar con esta carrera: Convertirse en Beisbolistas Profesionales.

En este sentido, fue una jornada muy interesante que terminó con u n partido de Softbol, estuvieron presente prospectos como César Perdomo (Gigantes de San Francisco), Sandro Pereira (Astros de Houston) , José Olivares ( Minnesota Twins), entre otros, y también destacar la presencia de Luis Méndez, un ex- Pelotero Profesional, durante 9 años formó parte del Sistema de Ligas Menos de los Rangers de Texas, jugó en la LVBP con los Tiburones de la Guaira y actualmente inició su carrera como Coach con los Padres de San Diego en Ligas Menores.

“Una fuente millonaria de Ingresos”
Venezuela es un país donde el béisbol a pesar del tiempo (y que otras disciplinas se han popularizado mucho) sigue siendo el deporte número 1, pero ha pasado ser de un simple deporte o pasatiempo “nacional” a una “fuente millonaria de ingresos”, firmar con un equipo de MLB es tener el futuro “garantizado”, en el consciente colectivo se ha vendido esa apreciación, sin embargo, la cosa no es tan fácil, no todo pelotero firmará, algunos tendrán el talento y nunca firmarán, otros les costará, mientras están aquellos que lo concretarán muy rápido, ¿Y luego de la firma que viene?, yo creo que es el proceso aún más complejo, firmar no es garantía de nada, siempre estarás a la expectativa, todos estarán pendiente del rendimiento, aparecen lesiones o las malas rachas, las perspectivas de las organizaciones pueden cambiar. Siempre hablamos de Grandes Ligas, pero no todos llegan allí, existen casos de que han tenido una carrera muy larga en Ligas Menores y el llamado nunca llegó, aquellos que suben se “Toman un Café” y luego jamás vuelven.
“A multi-million dollar source of income”

Con esto quiero decir que se ha vendido una “ilusión” como si fuera cualquier otra cosa, aunque esto está en otro nivel, es un tema obviamente de talento, suerte (estar en el momento indicado), sacrificios (los millones de dólares pueden estar muy cercas pero existe un costo para obtener una recompensa), inversión (hoy en día las organizaciones se han vuelto muy exigentes, ahora buscan atletas, esto significa que debe existir una combinación entre la capacidad de desenvolverse e interpretar el juego y una excelente condición física). Creo que estas academias, que en Venezuela son muchas, deben formar atletas para el futuro y que la firma no sea el único fin.
