Qué les cuento, amigos Hivers, Personas fascinantes abundan en el deporte. Sobre todos aquellos que con la actividad deportiva o física transmiten alegría, generan conciencia y contribuyen con preservar las bondades que nos regala la vida. Es extraordinario que ese personaje deportivo al cual me voy a referir, es un corredor, ampliamente conocido en Venezuela por el gremio de los runnig, el famoso “Iguana”, Luis Betancourt y hasta internacionalmente es reconocido porque actualmente reside en Chile pero sin olvidar su País natal.

Además de ser un amante de la actividad física es un excelente orador, le gusta conversar y aproveché de llevarles este testimonio gracias a una nota de voz que me envió luego de contactarlo.

Tiene claro su objetivo como motivador en las carreras, no todos tienen esa la facultad de compaginar con todas las personas y ganarse su cariño: “La Iguana” recoge esa característica. Desde que descubrió el mundo de las carreras en el 2005 ha significado algo maravilloso para Daniel “he aprovechado las carreras para transmitir mensajes que sumen en pro de la sociedad, mensajes que contribuyan a crear conciencia ecológica o que ayudemos al prójimo”.

La claridad de este atleta que se disfraza en las competencias es contagiosa, rompe con lo artificial y banal. Gracias a esta labor ha emprendido campañas por el cáncer de seno, por el Alzheimer, autismo, no solo es correr, es dar charlas motivacionales.

“Se trata de aportar, contribuir, compartir y vivimos en una sociedad inmersas en preocupaciones, problemas, el fulano estrés, y creo que la vida es más simple y practica de llevar, si nosotros mismos nos proponemos a que sea bonita, tener la voluntad y el empeño de hacer las cosas bien”.

Daniel “La Iguana” es de esos venezolanos de bien que son multiplicadores de buenas vibras, seamos como Daniel, ahora sabemos que detrás de ese disfraz, esa mascara, unos cuantos kilómetros trazados y medallas en su cuello, se encuentra un gran ser humano.
En cuanto a su pasión por correr, debo decirles que de verdad es admirable su capacidad física, actualmente en Chile ha sido capaz de correr infinitas carreras y de manera muy seguida, y estamos hablando de Kilómetros que varían, 21, 42 y hasta Utra-maratón, últimamente lo hemos visto en redes sociales muy concentrado en el Trail, ama la carreras de Montaña, también es una muy buena oportunidad para conocer al País Austral desde su hermosura y complejidad, No crean que Daniel es solamente un animador de Carreras, es un atleta en el amplio sentido de la Palabra, Compite, es un Elite más, porque a pesar de sus ocupaciones personales tiene una preparación rigurosa, asumiendo cualquier reto, sin duda que ama correr.

Nuevamente lo afirmo, el deporte es maravilloso, pero aún más con personajes como Daniel y que dicha escribir sobre ellos.

Daniel 'The Iguana' is one of those good Venezuelans who spread good vibes, let's be like Daniel. Now we know that behind that disguise, that mask, a few kilometers marked out, and medals around his neck, is a great human being. Regarding his passion for running, I must say that his physical ability is truly admirable; currently in Chile, he has been able to run countless races in quick succession, and we are talking about distances that vary, 21, 42, and even ultra-marathons. Recently, we have seen him very focused on trail running; he loves mountain races, which is also a great opportunity to get to know the Southern country through its beauty and complexity. Don't think that Daniel is just a race host; he is an athlete in the broadest sense of the word. He competes; he is an elite runner because despite his personal commitments, he maintains rigorous training, taking on any challenge. Without a doubt, he loves to run.
