Wedding dress is usually one of the long awaited and highly anticipated dress every girl dream of. Because it symbolises Elegant, Romance and New Beginning. A well designed crafted wedding dress will make the bride elegant, sophisticated, confident and radiant, which will therefore make the day an unforgettable moments. I am one of those ladies who have dreamt of wearing a beautifully crafted wedding gown, but as I grow and mature, I realized one has to stay in budget so as not to end up ruining one'source of income, because of wedding dress. As my wedding day drew I decided to then go and sew one, but must be beautiful and well crafted, so as to look stunning and beautiful, that's the intention of every bride anyway.

I drew inspiration from an online image I saw to replicate my own. I then showed my tailor the online image, and asked her if she can sew the exact design, and if the fabrics, materials and the embroider used can be bought. She assured me that she will sew the exact style, although we might not access the exact fabric, embroider and materials, but we might even get better one, after all she has been sewing stunning bridal gown for low budget bride like me.

This assurance gotten from my versatile designer boost and increase my confident. We then proceed to a famous fabric market in South West, Nigeria called Gbagi in Ibadan to pick the clothing materials needed for my highly anticipated wedding dress. On getting to Gbagi, My tailor and I went to Wedding fabrics section, there we find arrays of options, beautiful embroider. Since my tailor knows her onion and what she needed to create this masterpiece. She selected a white lace material,a bridal satin and some embroiders which I paid for. All these materials are not more than 15000 naira. At the end of the day, when I eventually went to pick my beautifully anticipated wedding dress,I saw a breathtaking taken one. it worth it. And don't forget my designer requested for 5000 for her work, but I paid for everything used. That was five years ago.

Another minimal cost budget I did that for that day was my make over and bridal hair. There is this area younger brother I have who at that time was learning make up although not perfect but wasn't an amateur either, I took him to market as well, he selected the most necessary materials for make up which I paid. This also goes for the bridal hair. The funniest part was that, we substitute some wedding hair accessories to tailor's embroidery materials.

On my wedding day, I wasn't perfect, but wasn't flawed either. I heard whisper, some comments on how low budget my dress and make up is, but beautiful, dazzling and sophisticated. Some critise, condemn and vow never to buy or dress in a low budget especially on their wedding day.

After all said and done, am grateful, am still married to my RARE GEM. Whether low or high budget one the only thing that matter is after the wedding, my marriage is standing stronger, and that's all that matters.
