It feels so exciting to post in the @ecotrain community once again after been away for a while. The question of the week really got my attention, which is why am participating to share my own thoughts and feeling in the question dropped.

The #qotw of the week says; What's the One Thing You KNOW Would Transform Your Life? - and what's really stopping you?

As humans we are all entitled to our own opinion and ideas which probably might be different from other people. Ever since when I was young, I have always have the dream that one day, I will like to be a footballer, a goalkeeper to be precise. This have always been my joy and dream to achieve but then finance became the bigger issue as that dream became shaky.

My family background is a poor one where three square meal is not guaranteed and if we are privilege to see two square meal, it becomes a blessing for that day. At that tender age, looking at my family background, i have always have the mindset that if I am opportuned to play football someday, my family situation will change for good.

Despite the fact that I knew finance was stopping me from achieving my dreams, I still always try my possible best to play street football likewise local competition to know if any help or sponsor can showcase if they see my physical ability and passion for the dream and sport.

My country Nigeria, isn't showing that assurance of footballers from grassroots having the opportunity to play abroad instead it is only players mostly from rich homes that are privilege to play. The players who don't have this financial means and connection but were able to play football abroad were just lucky and opportuned.

Looking at the football national team of today, it is mainly players who play abroad while those from the local leagues hardly make it there or are few which is part of the sentiment and opportunity am talking about.

If I was opportuned to achieve my dream

We all know that football is a sport that pays well which is why many people wants their children to plays football likewise other sports. This would have been a good opportunity for me in changing my family story if my dream was achieved but then the country situation and financial means stopped me from achieving that.

If I listen to some footballer's testimony like Victor Osimhen, Sadio Mane and so many others. I always wish I was opportuned too because I know that will be a blessing to my family, friends and other people around but that didn't happen but however am still grateful for life because no one knows tomorrow.

If it were to be in an European country and I decide I want to be a footballer that dream will likely happen because their system there is working likewise their economy unlike here where the government isn't showing that same process and opportunity.

So many dreams and talents have not been discovered especially when lack of finance is the issue which is really becoming a problem but we only hope that someday the situation will turnout for good.

This is one reason why I am working hard in other to lay a good foundation for my children in other for them not face the same challenges I went through. Though, it is difficult task but I want the best for them to eradicate my past experience.

Once again is a privilege to participate in this week topic and if your also interested in participating, this is the link to the topic below

Thank you for sharing this! i can totally understand how you must have desired to be a top footballer with all your heart.. and yet.. (praise the lord! in my opinion.. you were spared that path..

i hope u dont take offence to me saying that. .. its just that.. well, i was from the UK where Football was part of life for most people.. and the money, power, and corruption has finally overriden the whole point of the sport! A fair game of football between two teams!

I wonder how you might feel if your billionaire boss gathers your team and says, guys, ive going to give you all $50Mill top lose this game. .. and thats just how it goes, because he tells you that long term it will work out and he will guarantee you make absolute ludicrous money for ever more. or he privately comes to you and offers you $200 million to let a ball go though!!

and even more simply, do you really want to be in a position to have that much money>?> There are very few people who lead happy fun lives who have big money.. from what ive seen..

It depends on the situation at hand and the people involve. We know how football changes lives likewise the money involve in it. People from struggling countries and poor families are there for the money when such opportunities comes which will keep the passion for the sport at a side but then that doesn't stop the players from playing as corruption also is involve in the sport as well.

For me I wouldn't want that offer if i find myself in that situation playing in that top level because by then I feel whatever am getting as my salary is ok for me which am contented with it and if the team or the owner don't want me anymore I can sign for any other team.

To some people they might see me as been stupid to decline such offer but then it is part of me to do what is right to make me happy and the opposite of me doing such will really affect me as it is not part of my lifestyle.
