[EN] Hi, Hive! 💙 Hope you're good.
I'm here today to answer the questions of Ladies Of Hive's #164 contest. Enjoying the festive spirit, they've created a theme to encourage us to talk about it.
Holiday Season in Brazil.
Before answering LOH's questions, I think it would be nice to tell you a bit of how Festive Time works here in Brazil, where I live.
We always see snow in Christmas movies, people wear heavy clothes and this kind of thing... Well, as a 21 year old I can say I've never seen snow in Brazil, specially in the end of the year. Christmas and New Year's Eve are always very hot days, on the 25th it usually rains a lot and the 31st and 1st are generally extremely hot and humid days. Here, in South America, we're now in the end of Spring, and the beginning of Summer is in January.
On Christmas, we actually gather with family on the 24th and we only have the meal after midnight, when it's already the 25th.
On New Year's Eve, there are many traditions because Latin people tend to be very superstitious, but the superstitions change a lot according to each person's religions and beliefs. But it's very common to spend this holiday on the beach, with family or friends.
Now that you know more about the Holiday Season here, let's go to the questions.
My Holiday Plans for this year.
Belive it or not, I'm still not sure about what I'll do, haha. I have two Christmas options:
The first one is to be with my best friend, pretty much a sister, and her family in another state where they live. I spent the last few years with them and we usually have a very good time during the days we're together. We'd have the meal on the 24th and 25th and just enjoy each other's company the rest of the time.
The second option is to be at my grandmother's house, my dad's mom, she lives close to us and I'd go there on the 24th to have the big meal and not much else.
Tell me, Hive, what would you do if you were me?
On New Year's I'll be in Saquarema, on the beach, in a friend's house with a lot of other friends there. There's no way we won't have a good time!
My one magical Christmas wish.
Thinking about how a lot of people don't take others feeling into consideration, my wish would be happiness and empathy for everyone.
Happy people don't bother others and empathy is always necessary in a world with so many problems, like hate, hunger, disrespect and a list of other things that could and should be ended.
It's hard to solve all these problems at once, but if we all had the ability to put ourselves in others shoes, things would be easier for all of us.
I truly believe that part of everyone's mission is to learn how to think about and help others, so I couldn't have a different magical wish besides this one.

Estou aqui hoje para responder às perguntas do concurso #164 do Ladies Of Hive. Aproveitando o espírito festivo, criaram um tema para nos incentivar a falar sobre o assunto.
Época de festas de fim de ano no Brasil.
Antes de responder às perguntas da LOH, acho que seria legal contar um pouco de como funciona a época festiva aqui no Brasil, onde moro.
Sempre vemos neve nos filmes de Natal, as pessoas usam roupas pesadas e esse tipo de coisa... Bom, aos 21 anos posso dizer que nunca vi neve no Brasil, principalmente no final do ano. O Natal e o Ano Novo são sempre dias muito quentes, no dia 25 costuma chover muito e os dias 31 e 1° são geralmente dias extremamente quentes e húmidos. Aqui, na América do Sul, estamos no final da primavera e o início do verão é em janeiro.
No Natal, na verdade reunimo-nos com a família no dia 24 e só fazemos a refeição depois da meia-noite, quando já é dia 25.
Na véspera de Ano Novo as tradições são muitas porque os latinos tendem a ser muito supersticiosos, mas as superstições mudam muito de acordo com as religiões e crenças de cada pessoa. Mas é muito comum passar esse feriado na praia, com a família ou amigos.
Agora que você já sabe mais sobre as festas de fim de ano aqui, vamos às perguntas.
Meus planos para os feriados desse ano.
Acredite ou não, ainda não tenho certeza do que farei, haha. Tenho duas opções de Natal:
A primeira é estar com minha melhor amiga, praticamente uma irmã, e a família dela em outro estado onde moram. Passei os últimos anos com eles e geralmente nos divertimos muito durante os dias que estamos juntos. Faríamos a refeição nos dias 24 e 25 e apenas desfrutaríamos da companhia um do outro o resto do tempo.
A segunda opção é ficar na casa da minha avó, mãe do meu pai, ela mora perto da gente e eu iria lá no dia 24 para fazer a refeição grande e nada mais.
Diga-me, Hive, o que vocês fariam se fossem eu?
No Réveillon estarei em Saquarema, na praia, na casa de um amigo com muitos outros amigos lá. Não tem como não nos divertirmos!
Meu desejo mágico de Natal.
Pensando em como muita gente não leva em consideração o sentimento dos outros, meu desejo seria felicidade e empatia para todos.
Pessoas felizes não incomodam os outros e a empatia é sempre necessária num mundo com tantos problemas, como o ódio, a fome, o desrespeito e uma lista de outras coisas que poderiam e deveriam acabar.
É difícil resolver todos estes problemas de uma só vez, mas se todos tivéssemos a capacidade de nos colocar no lugar dos outros, as coisas seriam mais fáceis para todos nós.
Eu realmente acredito que parte da missão de todos é aprender a pensar e ajudar os outros, então não poderia ter outro desejo mágico além deste.

Temporada de fiestas de fin de año en Brasil.
Antes de responder las preguntas de LOH, creo que sería genial contarles un poco sobre cómo funciona la temporada festiva aquí en Brasil, donde vivo.
Siempre vemos nieve en las películas navideñas, la gente usa ropa pesada y ese tipo de cosas... Bueno, a mis 21 años puedo decir que nunca vi nieve en Brasil, especialmente en fin de año. Navidad y Año Nuevo siempre son días muy calurosos, el día 25 suele llover mucho y el 31 y 1 generalmente son días extremadamente calurosos y húmedos. Aquí, en Sudamérica, estamos al final de la primavera y el comienzo del verano es en enero.
En Navidad, de hecho, nos reunimos con la familia el día 24 y solo comemos después de medianoche, cuando ya es el día 25.
En Nochevieja hay muchas tradiciones porque los latinos suelen ser muy supersticiosos, pero las supersticiones cambian mucho según las religiones y creencias de cada persona. Pero es muy habitual pasar estas vacaciones en la playa, en familia o con amigos.
Ahora que sabes más sobre las fiestas de fin de año aquí, pasemos a las preguntas.
Mis planes para las vacaciones de este año.
Lo creas o no, todavía no estoy seguro de qué haré, jaja. Tengo dos opciones navideñas:
La primera es estar con mi mejor amiga, prácticamente una hermana, y su familia en otro estado donde viven. He pasado los últimos años con ellos y generalmente nos divertimos mucho durante los días que estamos juntos. Comíamos los días 24 y 25 y simplemente disfrutábamos de la compañía del otro el resto del tiempo.
La segunda opción es quedarme en casa de mi abuela, la madre de mi padre, ella vive cerca de nosotros y yo iría el día 24 a hacer una gran comida y nada más.
Dime, Hive, ¿qué harías si fueras yo?
En Nochevieja estaré en Saquarema, en la playa, en casa de un amigo con muchos otros amigos allí. ¡No hay manera de que no podamos divertirnos!
Mi mágico deseo navideño.
Pensando en cuántas personas no toman en consideración los sentimientos de los demás, mi deseo sería felicidad y empatía para todos.
Las personas felices no molestan a los demás y la empatía siempre es necesaria en un mundo con tantos problemas, como el odio, el hambre, la falta de respeto y una lista de cosas más que podrían y deberían terminar.
Es difícil solucionar todos estos problemas a la vez, pero si todos tuviéramos la capacidad de ponernos en el lugar de los demás, las cosas serían más fáciles para todos.
Realmente creo que parte de la misión de todos es aprender a pensar y ayudar a los demás, por eso no podría tener otro deseo mágico que este.
Espero que hayan disfrutado aprendiendo un poco más sobre las festividades de fin de año en Brasil y les deseo a todos ustedes, amigos de Hive, un maravilloso momento festivo.

Tambien estoy muy de acuerdo contigo, la empatía es algo que se necesita ver en los seres humanos, lamentablemtente hay mucho egoismo, pero siempre encontraremos personas llenas de amor y entrega por los demas, saludos! 😊
