Life goes on

Old vs Young.jpeg

It's quite funny how times and ways of doing things gradually changes. Some of the certain ways we did things like a decade ago is quite different from how we do it now and there's are high chances that it won't be the same if we should project another ten years from now. At times change may appear frightening. I'm the type of person that tends to be more clingy to old things and a bit reluctant to having new ones.

A lot has really changed, some of the things I am comfortable with while there are some that just makes me wish it remained the way it had been. Sometimes I compare my childhood and how it was back then to how things are presently. It's as if things are moving too fast. I look at kids and it's as if they are in a rush to grow, not just in stature but also in behavior. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it is actually good, in a way. But maybe they should slow down a bit.

My childhood experiences seem to be the best so far that I wouldn't mind going to relive it if I could. We didn't even need technology back then to have a good time and be happy. They were lots of activities to do which were really fun. I remember the different types of games we played when we draw a number of boxes on the ground with chalk or stone or even a stick if it was on the soil. Playing hide and seek, which was one of my favorite games, and many other games to mention.

But kids of today seem to have little or no interest in these things. People are more active and interactive on the online space than they are in the physical environment. I find it funny sometimes when a number of people are together and they are more engaged online than they are engaged with one another. I'm equally guilty of this also and when I noticed it the more are times when I had problems with my phone and I was in the midst of those who have. It's at this moment I begin to cherish physical communication and realize how technology kind of distances us from the people closest to us.

Harry Styles made a beautiful song "As it was." A can think of a couple of way he got inspired to put out that song. For instance the way life was for him before he made it to fame and his present life as a star would definitely have differences. It's funny how we hear from some of these stars how they become more lonelier even with the money and fame than they were before. Maybe this is one of the reason why I find change to be kind of frightening.

But then, I believe everyone have their own different experiences with change and not being ready does not stop it from coming, so we might as well prepare for it. When I realized this I stopped stressing over comparing how things were previously and also easier to how they are right now and appears to be tougher. All the times I did this there was no reversal change. It's okay and normal to reflect on these times, but then life goes on and we just have to get along with it.
