The intermittencies of luck / Las intermitencias de la suerte (eng-esp)

Hi, girls.

The intermittency of luck (to paraphrase Saramago) is what we'll be talking about today.

Yesterday, I was talking with Abel about luck, about whether it exists or not. I won't say whether it does or doesn't exist, since that's not the point, and in the end, we didn't reach any conclusion other than the points I'll make today.

My position is clear: there are no coincidences, only causes. Every event happens as a result of a series of previously caused events.

What we call a "stroke of luck" is almost always the end result of a chain of actions and decisions that went unnoticed.

That's why I believe we are the main cause of our own luck. Let's take an example: if a music producer "discovers" you, it's because they saw you playing somewhere and you did well.

For that "luck" to happen, you must have studied and rehearsed a lot for years. You also must have had the initiative to play in that specific place. Without study, practice, talent, and constant work, no amount of luck is worthwhile.

Opportunity may knock on your door, but if you haven't prepared your instrument, you won't be able to answer.

This leads us to another point: if you don't take advantage of every opportunity, even the small ones, no amount of luck will be on your side.

Luck isn't a lottery ticket that falls from the sky; it's the ability to recognize and act when a possibility arises, however small.

It's important to understand that just because something is improbable doesn't mean it's impossible. Therefore, it can happen. But the probability of it happening increases dramatically when you work to tip the odds in your favor.

Intermittent luck isn't a whim of fate; it's a direct reflection of our preparation and persistence.

Nevertheless, I believe in the power of the mind to change your destiny. So I believe you can alter your reality and cause things to happen without any explanation other than pure luck (or magic). Whatever the case, you have to take advantage of it. One way or another, luck or not, it was caused by you.

Hola, chicas.
