Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme - LOH Contest Week #256 / Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme - Concurso LOH semana #256 (eng-esp)

Hi, ladies!

Our dear @elizabethbit asks us which spices best describe us. The truth is, I've been thinking about it a lot and can't find many spices I'm familiar with.

I've been debating between basil and rosemary.

But I think I'll ultimately choose rosemary.

I chose it because it's a very special spice. The plant belongs to the sage family. This identifies me because it's one of the plant families most used for magic. And you know how Abel has made me believe I'm a witch.

On the other hand, it's a plant with a woody trunk, strong, but at the same time, it's very delicate. If it's not in the right environment, with balanced watering and sunlight, the plant can die.
However, if it has a balanced life, its leaves will multiply and grow into a beautiful bush.
Oh, and they also have something I love: their leaves are evergreen, thin, and long.
All of these are special characteristics that I identify with.
Then there's its smell and flavor. Rosemary is one of the most fragrant plants I know. Just brush against food and it will infuse your food with its scent or flavor. Or simply brush against it and you'll smell delicious all day long.
And finally, rosemary has a very similar origin to mine. We both have our origins in the Mediterranean.

My father is Greek. In ancient times, the Greeks used rosemary for religious purposes, and even used it to make wreaths to honor the gods and heroes.
So, yes, I identify with rosemary's enormous versatility. It speaks highly of me, and perhaps that's why I like it so much and have insisted so much on growing it in my house and at my husband's house in Havana.

¡Hola, chicas!

I love rosemary as well. It does not survive the winter where I live, but I plant it every spring, and I freeze the leaves in olive oil.

I agree — you can brush against it and enjoy the wonderful smell of rosemary all day!
