My last vacations in Havana for the contest LOH #236 / Mis últimas vacaciones en La Habana para el concurso LOH #236

Hello, ladies.
Being an artist, I could say I have several vacations a year, since I love my job and performing is something I thoroughly enjoy.

So, every event I travel to, I could say it's a vacation. However, in reality, it's not. So, I'll tell you about my last trip to Havana, on vacation with my family. This was my last vacation, and it was a dream come true.

I hadn't been able to return to Havana with my children since before the COVID-19 pandemic. They were very young and barely remember what they experienced. However, thanks to my husband's house there, we made plans and were able to go on vacation.

It was a voyage of discovery for them and for us too. For us, in the sense that I showed them places in Havana that my husband hadn't been to, and vice versa. And, of course, we both showed them several of the iconic places in our hometown.

Our first stop was Vedado. I wanted to show the boys some of the places they saw on television or the ones we told them about in our city stories.

In this image, you can see him next to the statue of Don Quixote, in the park that bears his name.

From there, we walked toward Coppelia, but before arriving, we took the opportunity to take some photos in front of the new hotel they were building at the time on K Street. This is the tallest building in Cuba, so far.

So we finally arrived at the Coppelia ice cream shop to enjoy some delicious ice cream. We met my PhD advisor and invited her to spend time with us, and at the same time, to meet my children.

The next day, the trip headed to Old Havana. Of course, we decided to start in Central Park, right in front of the statue of José Martí, our national apostle, and we paid our respects.

Then we headed to Obispo Boulevard to visit my tutor and continue our tour of several of the museums and themed houses on this famous boulevard.

One of them could only be the delicious Casa del Chocolate, where we indulged ourselves with a drink and a meal. Chocolate until you're sick of it.

My husband gave me this beautiful rose. I don't know if you know this, but I love flowers ☺️.

Another of the stores we visited was La casa del perfume to see if we could order some personalized perfumes.

So we set off for Cristo de La Habana.

The view of Havana Bay and part of the capital's historic center from that magical spot is incredible. There's no doubt about it.

On the way back, we passed through the Plaza de San Francisco de Asís.

We arrived home in the afternoon, but just in time to enjoy this sunset.

Of course, this was just a summary of how much we enjoyed it. We're already planning to return. But we want to do it as a family. If it's not with the whole family, it's not a vacation.

Hola, chicas.
Al ser artista, podria decir que tengo varias vacaciones en el año, ya que amo mi trabajo y tocar es algo que disfruto en demasía.
De modo que, en cada evento al que viajo, podría decir que son vacaciones. Sin embargo, en realidad no lo son. Así que les contaré de mi último viaje a La Habana, de vacaciones junto a mi familia. Estas fueron mis últimas vacaciones y fue un sueño hecho realidad.

No había podido regresar a La Habana junto a mis hijos desde antes de la pandemia del COVID-19. Ellos eran muy pequeños y casi no recuerdan lo que vivieron. Sin embargo, gracias a que mi esposo tiene su casa allá, nos planificamos y pudimos irnos de vacaciones.

Fue un viaje de descubrimiento para ellos y para nosotros también. Para nosotros en el sentido de que yo le mostré lugares de la Habana que mi esposo no conocía y viceversa. Y, claro, ambos le enseñamos varios de los lugares icónicos de nuestra ciudad natal.

Nuestra primera parada fue al Vedado. Quería enseñarle a los muchachos algunos de los lugares que veían por televisión o de los que nosotros les comentábamos en nuestras historias citadinas.
En esta imagen pueden verlo junto a la estatua del Quijote, en el parque que lleva su nombre.

De ahí fuimos caminando hacia el coppelia, pero antes de llegar aprovechamos para tomarnos unas fotos en frente al nuevo hotel que construían en ese entonces en la calle K. Este es el edificio más alto de Cuba, hasta el momento.

Así finalmente llegamos a la heladería Coppelia para disfrutar de un unos deliciosos helados.
Coincidimos con mi tutora en el doctorado y la invitamos a compartir con nosotros y de paso para que conociera a mis hijos.

Al día siguiente el viaje fue hacia la Habana vieja. Por supuesto decidimos comenzar en el Parque Central, precisamente frente a la estatua de José Martí, nuestro apóstol nacional y le rendimos respeto.

Luego nos adentramos al boulevard de Obispo para visitar a mi tutora y continuar nuestro recorrido turístico por varios de los museos y casas temáticas de este famoso boulevard.

Una de ellas no podía ser otra que la deliciosa Casa del chocolate, donde nos dimos el gusto de tomar y comer chocolate hasta el hartazgo.

Mi esposo me regaló esta hermosa rosa. No sé si lo saben, pero me encantan las flores ☺️.

Otra de las casas que visitamos fue La casa del perfume para ver si podíamos encargar algunos perfumes personalizados.

Así partimos hacia el Cristo de La Habana.

La vista de la bahía de La Habana y parte del casco histórico de la capital, desde aquel mágico sitio, es increíble. No hay lugar a dudas.

De regreso pasamos por la plaza de San Francisco de Asís.

Llegamos a casa en la tarde, pero justo a tiempo para poder disfrutar de esta puesta de sol.

Por supuesto, esto fue solo un resumen de lo mucho que disfrutamos. Ya estamos planificado para regresar. Pero queremos hacerlo en familia. Si no es con la familia entera, no son vacaciones.
