Learning to question / Aprendiendo a cuestionar (eng-esp)

Hi, girls!

My children are still very innocent, even though they're already in the thick of adolescence. But I've always raised them with the truth and protected them from the dark side of society.

Perhaps too far removed from it. Therefore, for some time now I've been introducing them to philosophy and, above all, to the importance of learning to question everything they read or are told.

This is because they learn and believe almost everything they're told, and that's very wrong.

The important thing is to never stop questioning. Albert Einstein believed that questioning and curiosity were the key to learning, not the accumulation of data.

We gain nothing by accumulating data if we don't have the ability to analyze or verify it.

I want my children to have the ability to question as a tool, not only for school, but for life.

When you question, you allow yourself to see the situation from a broader angle and choose not to get trapped in limiting beliefs. It's like taking off blinders; suddenly, your field of vision is wider and you have more options to decide.

My message to them is clear: ask questions, seek answers, don't settle for the superficial, verify the answers, confront, corroborate.

Remember that every great discovery began with a simple question. It's not about being distrustful, but about being aware. Don't accept things at face value.

We can't believe everything we read or are told. Furthermore, questions are useful tools. I see it this way, practically speaking: they open real channels of communication, provide us with truthful information, and improve interactions because they demonstrate interest.

By questioning, we facilitate the analysis and diagnosis of a situation, allowing us to understand the "why" of things.

This is key when questioning. What? Why? What for? And other similar questions are key to uncovering the greatest truths of knowledge.

They give us the freedom to propose our own ideas, help us understand the priorities of others, and stimulate the motivation to learn.

They foster creativity because to find a new answer, we must first challenge the existing one.

And, even more importantly, questioning is the foundation of scientific thinking: observing, asking questions, hypothesizing, and testing. That's what I want for them.

I don't want them to blindly obey everything I tell them, or that they are told: I want them to understand and learn.

Mis niños son muy inocentes todavía, a pesar de que ya están en plena adolescencia. Pero los he criado siempre con la verdad y protegidos de la parte oscura de la sociedad.
Quizás demasiado alejados de ella. Por tanto, hace un tiempo que los estoy introduciendo en la filosofía y, sobre todo, en el asunto de aprender a cuestionar todo lo que leen o le cuentan.
Eso, debido a que se aprenden y creen casi todo lo que le dicen, y eso está muy mal.

Lo importante es no dejar de cuestionar. Albert Einstein pensaba que el cuestionamiento y la curiosidad eran la clave del aprendizaje, no la acumulación de datos.
No hacemos nada con acumular datos si no tenemos la capacidad de analizarlos o verificarlos.
Yo quiero que mis hijos tengan la capacidad de cuestionamiento como herramienta, no solo para la escuela, sino para la vida.
Cuando cuestionas, te permites ver la situación desde un ángulo más amplio y eliges no quedarte atrapado en creencias limitantes. Es como quitarse unas anteojeras; de repente, el campo de visión es más grande y tienes más opciones para decidir.

Mi mensaje para ellos es claro: haz preguntas, busca respuestas, no te conformes con lo superficial, verifica las respuestas , confronta, corrobora.
Recuerda que cada gran descubrimiento comenzó con una simple pregunta. No se trata de ser desconfiado, sino de ser consciente. No aceptes las cosas porque sí.
No podemos creernos todo lo que leemos o nos cuentan.
Además, las preguntas son herramientas útiles. Lo veo así, de manera práctica: abren canales de comunicación reales, nos brindan información veraz, y mejoran las interacciones porque demuestran interés.
Al cuestionar, fallcilitamos el análisis y el diagnóstico de una situación, permitiéndonos entender el "por qué" de las cosas.

Esto es algo clave al cuestionar. ¿Qué? ¿Por qué? ¿Para qué? Y otras preguntas similares, son claves para develar las mayores verdades del conocimiento.
Nos dan la libertad de proponer nuestras propias ideas, ayudan a comprender las prioridades de los demás y estimulan la motivación para aprender.
Fomentan la creatividad, porque para encontrar una respuesta nueva primero hay que desafiar la existente.

Y, aún más importante, el cuestionamiento es la base del pensamiento científico: observar, preguntar, hipotetizar y comprobar. Eso es lo que quiero para ellos.
No quiero que obedezcan ciegamente todo lo que les digo, o le dicen: yo quiero que entiendan y aprendan.
