Hello, girls.
Today I want to participate in this initiative. To start, I'll start by saying that I always prefer to travel with my family.

Although it may seem untrue, this initiative also touches me very close to my heart. For many years, due to my career as a guitarist, I was offered many travel opportunities, both within the provinces and abroad.

Even when the children were young, I had to decline a trip to Colombia simply because I couldn't take them with me.

Why do I prefer to travel with my family and not alone?

Imagine that, as a guitarist, I've been able to play in almost all the major concert halls in my country. Picture the image of me playing and receiving standing ovation from the audience, and once I step off the stage, there's no one waiting for me.
I'm alone.
What's the point if I can't share that moment with my loved ones?
It'll never be the same telling how it went as it is for them to witness it from the front row. Also, every time I travel without them, I can never fully enjoy all the attention and benefits offered by the hotels and provinces I visit.
Then there's the fact that when you travel alone, you don't always have someone to help you. There are many things that, unfortunately, you'll have to do alone, by yourself.

However, now that my husband and my children have grown up, in recent years I've been able to go out to the provinces with him. Also, because he takes care of the kids when I play, the four of us have been able to go out together.
In this way, happiness has been complete.
I've been able to give my children all the pleasures they'd only been able to hear about until recently. They've also been able to have their own experiences, discovering new places, and getting to know places in Cuba and our history that they weren't familiar with.

And of course, if I could bring my friends along on my trips in addition to my family, I wouldn't hesitate either. The best thing about the events, whether musical or literary, that I've been able to share with my husband is being able to enjoy them with the family of friends we've chosen.

That doesn't mean that, for major reasons or for professional reasons, I refuse or dislike traveling alone.
What I would never do, and I feel bad just thinking about it, is travel alone when I could take them with me; leave them behind.
Never. If I'm going to travel, let it be with my family.

Hola, chicas.
Hoy quiero participar en esta iniciativa. Para eso comenzaré diciendo que prefiero viajar siempre en familia.

Aunque parezca mentira, también esta iniciativa me toca muy de cerca, en el corazón. Durante muchos años, por cuestiones de mi carrera como guitarrista, se me ofrecieron muchas oportunidades de viaje, tanto provincia como al extranjero.
Incluso, cuando los niños eran pequeños tuve que declinar de un viaje a Colombia por el simple hecho de no poder llevarlos conmigo.

¿Por qué prefiero viajar en familia y no sola?

Imagínense que, como guitarrista, he podido tocar en casi todas las principales salas de conciertos de mi país. Visualicen la imagen en que después de tocar y recibir el aplauso del público de pie en la sala, una vez que me baje del escenario, no me espere nadie.
Esté sola.
¿De qué vale si no puedo compartir ese momento con mis seres amados?
Nunca será lo mismo contar cómo me fue, a que puedan presenciarlo en primera fila. También cada vez que viajo sin ellos, nunca puedo disfrutar a plenitud de todas las atenciones y los beneficios que ofrecen los hoteles y las provincias a las que asisto.
También está el caso de que cuando viajas sola, no siempre tienes a alguien que te ayude. Hay muchas cosas que, por desgracia, tendrás que hacerlo tú sola, por ti misma.

Sin embargo, ahora que gracias a mi esposo y que mis hijos han crecido, en estos últimos años he podido salir a provincia en su compañía. También, debido a que él me cuida a los muchachos cuando toco, hemos podido salir los cuatro juntos.
De ese modo la felicidad sí ha sido completa.
He podido darle a mis hijos todos los gustos de los hasta hace poco solo habían podido escuchar. También han podido tener sus propias experiencias, han descubierto lugares nuevos, han conocido sitios de Cuba y de nuestra historia que no conocían.

Y por supuesto, si además de mi familia pudiera llevar en mis viajes a mis amigos, tampoco lo dudaría. Lo mejor de los eventos, ya sean de música o literarios, que he podido compartir con mi esposo, es poder disfrutarlos junto a esa familia de amigos que hemos escogido.

Eso no quiere decir que, por causas mayores o por motivos profesionales, me niegue o vea mal a la que viaje sola.
Lo que sí nunca haría y me siento mal solo de pensarlo, sería viajar sola pudiendo llevarlos conmigo; dejarlos atrás.
Eso nunca. Si voy a viajar, que sea en familia.
